my wife likes all of those "princess" movies... and anything by that sap that wrote 'message in a bottle'... and our first movie together was a girl movie: 'Notting Hill'... she also watches those Bridget movies...
thanks TOTW... oh... I forgot one that she's almost worn out... 'Tortilla Soup'... give it a try if you haven't already... (not that I've ever watched it!)
I moved from my home town because I had to many Way memories there,so I get lonely somtimes, so when there is big snow coming or I need down time,I pull out a bottle of wine, its my private pitty party..
TOPOFTHEWORLD....are you a female? We all know the proper term is CHICK FLICK ----this from Radar the WOMAN
My favorite chick flick of all time, When Harry Met Sally.......after that, any old movies, especially those with Glenn Ford, like GILDA which was Glenn Ford and Rita Hayward.
Also, GWTW and Romeo and Juliet..............recently watched BRIGADOON (Gene Kelly, Cyd Charisse and Van Heflin) with the honey...............HE SCORED MAJOR POINTS!!! Just ask him ;)
Top, you pegged three of my favorites in your first post!
If I need a good cry (men might not entirely understand this concept), The Way We Were is the one for me. No matter how many times I see it, it opens all the floodgates--especially the scene where Katie & Hubbell run into each other on the street, after he's remarried, and she reaches up and brushes his hair back from his forehead.
Here are a few more:
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
It Happened One Night
Flashdance
Dirty Dancing
Footloose
Desk Set (Tracy & Hepburn--in fact, almost any movie starring those two)
Immediate Family - - an adoption that almost wasn't
Is that the one with Glenn Close as the adoptive mother. If it is, I love the scene where her and the surrogate are dancing with the tree in the foreground.

I remember when my wife and I watched "Piano". About 3/4 of the way through, she said "this isn't about the piano, it's about sex".

Oh, my dear Radar........
I HATE the term "Chick"...I mean I really HATE it.....
Don't know why; it's just one of those nails on a chalkboard terms, for me.
Anybody who knows me (especially my male friends) knows they can push my buttons by saying "chick" to me......
So that's why I named it "Gal"...it has more dignity.
