Something not seen everday - early "Shindig" footage - 1/2 way through this video of the Yardbirds doing "For Your Love" - a shot of a very young Jeff Beck looking absolutely thrilled to be there. A classic!

Nice clip socks. :) I liked the look of his guitar, but couldn't see the headstock on it.
So I looked around and found a site where Jeff talks about some of his guitars HERE.
I have 44 guitars. Unfortunately, 40 of those are crap! Well, perhaps not crap but a lot of them are prototypes that didn't quite work out. I've got a few vintage instruments but nothing like Dave Gilmour's collection. I've got one prize Fender that was given to me by the late Steve Marriott - a '53 or '54 Strat that looks like it should be in the V&A.; It's got a seasoned ash sunburst body that has cracked due to age and it weighs a ton. It looks just like the Buddy Holly Strat. At some stage when I wasn't thinking too clearly - mid-tour I think - I was getting a lot of feedback so someone kindly unloaded the original pickups and I don't know where they are. I've also got a '54 Tele which I love to death and never breaks strings - it sounds beautiful!'
Glad y'all are diggin' it. Shindig certainly had a place in presenting the music of the 60's, even though it looks so- so Hollywood-60's now. Jeff Beck actually looks like he's withdrawn so far into his own skin in disgust he's looking at himself and wondering why he's there. But the Yardbirds were a hothouse for guitarists we've come to know and love, or if not love hear often.
Johnny Winter - oh yeah! Great piece dmillar. Texas blues before the flood. I still remember the first time I heard him - it was in club I was playing at and they put in some Winter, don't remember what it was but it stopped me cold. Who's that!? "Winter".
There is a guy who did the harp work on "White Hot And Blue" named Pat Ramsey(Patramsey.com), who is currently working out of Florida with a band called Pat Ramsey And The Blues Disciples. He generates a lot of the same type of vocal style as Winter and his riffs pull in that JW sound. He has a killer axe man named Dave Renson and (for Chas.) a really excellent female bass player named Eloise Davis.
Their most recent CD (Live at the Big Bend Blues Bash) has some excellent harp driven work. Of special note is a tune called "I'm Allergic To Work". One listen, though, will assure you they are not.(allergic to work, that is)

I just read that thread about it possibly being an illegal that mass murdered those people. That is so horrible I keep putting that it happened out of my head.
It's early but I'm training my replacement at work so best get away from here so I can be sharp tomorrow. Today I knocked down a dividing wall by accident. I shouldn't be allowed near sharp instruments either at times.

Does being Albino cause physical weaknesses that you know of? I've noticed both he and Edgar to sit when playing.
Sorta-----Because they lack the protective qualities that pigment provides, they are very prone to things like skin cancer and blindness due to the absence of a filtration mechanism to defer harmful wavelengths of light.
Of course, age has a tendency to make us want to rest more also. Like a lot of us here at GSC, the Winters ain't gettin' no younger if you catch my drift.
