Tom Tuttle and Jonny Lingo, I don't know if I could be around the two of you together in real life and not wear a brace to protect my ribs from laughing too much!
Act2, My grandmother used to say that! That's a great one for my mom's jar.
The jars brought laughs and misty eyes as I passed them out. I'm excited for the new year to get here for them to start pulling the quotes out of them. There is much of Greasespot in those jars and they will bring lots of grins, smile, laughs and ponderings.
BTW, here's the picture that BOWTWI was able to get done for me. Daddy was totally shocked when he opened my present.....I had rolled it into a tube that we had gotten a TWI Poster in, so we teased him about getting a TWI poster for Christmas. LOL! Then when he opened it and unrolled it, he said, "Are you kidding me??" Laughed and said, "This is really neat! I can't believe you did this!" Everyone oooohhhed and aaahhhhhed all over it.....I was so so sooooo Happy to have gotten that done for him. Just tickled to pieces, especially so that he loved it so much.
Great, that's great. Good for you, your family and the holiday shared! Fine looking fam' you got there! Smart looking bunch, I bet there's a lot of laughter when you're together. :)
Thanks, Socks. We DO have a grand ole time when we get together. I'm especially blessed to have a super family full of love and laughter AND to have everyone healthy and alive all the way out to the farthest reaches of the extended family (this includes third cousins twice removed, for you Southern folk. ;) )
"Lord, I do not know what to ask of You; You alone know what is needed for me. You love me more than I know how to love You. O Father, give to Your slave that for which I do not even know how to beg. I do not dare to ask for either a cross or for consolation; I am only standing before You with my heart open to You. You see my needs, which I do not even know. See and deal with me according to Your mercy. Purge and heal me, humble me and raise me; I am in awe before You and I am silent before Your will and Your unfathomable ways for me. I am bringing myself as a sacrifice to You; teach me to pray. Pray Yourself within me. Amen." ~ St. Philaret of Moscow

An interesting quote from Dr. Dilip Jeste, professor of psychiatry and
neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine:
"In fact, optimism and effective coping styles were found to be more
important to aging successfully than traditional measures of health and wellness.
These findings suggest that physical health is not the best indicator of
successful aging -- attitude is."

Confucius say:
Man who fart in church must sit in his own pew.
Wife who puts man in dog house may soon find him in cat house.
Man who lays girl in field gets piece on earth.
Man who stand on toilet is high on pot
Man who walk through airport door sideways going to Bangkok.
Baseball got it all wrong — man with four balls cannot walk.
Virgin like balloon — one prick, all gone. :o
I guess the whole "Confucious Say" thing is about clever "double entendre's"

Belle...I am sure the Jar gifts will be cherished by your love ones. Here is a few quotes that have stuck in my mind over the years.
Character is doing the right thing when no is watching.
Every flower must grow the dirt.
Imagination is the highest kite one can fly.
Be like a postage stamp. Stick to one thing until you get there.
Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you'll land among the stars.
He who limps is still walking.
Do not follow where the path may go, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
Silent and Listen are spelled with the same letters.

I think the proper answer to the glass half full/empty question is:
Yes.
