Ethiopia the origin of Coffee
More than 1,000 years ago, a goatherd in Ethiopia’s south-western highlands plucked a few red berries from some young green trees growing there in the forest and tasted them. He liked the flavour – and the feel-good effect that followed. Today those self-same berries, dried, roasted and ground, have become the world’s second most popular non-alcoholic beverage after tea. And, as David Beatty discovers in words and pictures, the Ethiopian province where they first blossomed – Kaffa – gave its name to coffee.
I may have lost my right to subscribe to this thread. For health reasons, I have been forced to give up caffeine. I have been slowly stair-stepping down with a half caf, but the next step is the all wimpy stuff, all the time! Kind of like drinking colored water.
Mind if I drop in just to sniff every now and then?
For health reasons, I'm keeping on with my caffeine habit (since it's really the only one that I have). Without it, I get withdrawal symptons (headache, irritable). I figure for the health of everybody around me, it's better that I keep drinking the straight stuff.
(Ok, as a treat I do like a latte once in a while)
You must be the the profit of Jehovah Java (like that one). I have followed your example and also do the French. (May THE LORD OUR STIMULANT bless Sam's Club forever. Amen)

Since the word "programmed" was used in the strip, that makes the known absence of coffee the deprogramming agent.

I just had some Irish coffee while watching an old tearjerker "An Imitation of Life".
What a good way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon...

Moony,
Where did you find all of the cool pics of cappucinos and lattes you've posted? I think they are so cool!

Shucks -- I get 5 pounds at one time.
(lasts me about 2 1/2 weeks).
It's always Starbucks French Roast (from Sam's club - cheapest by far).
I couldn't imagine life without JEHOVAH-JAVA,
