On the screen where you download, instead of clicking on the link, right-click on it and click "save target as" and save it somewhere on your hard drive - it'll probably end up in "my documents" or "my downloads".
I've done this. Then it's grabbed by "Notepad" so I can't launch it to go thru the install. If I click on it, it tries to place the program in a text format, which it can't do. So, I'm back where I was before only now I have a download that's useless.
What exactly is the name of the downloaded file? If I knew that, I could help point you in the right direction.
You could try right-clicking on it, and then clicking "open with", instead of double-clicking on it. Of course, I can't tell you what to open it with without knowing the file extension.

Try Netscape instead, that goes quite a bit easier.
If you're still stuck after that, post again.

I have Netscape - I don't think it's the browser - methinks it's the plug in....
How do I get the thing installed?
Why does notepad think it's a notepad document and won't let me open it?

Okay, let's go through it step by step.
