One of the rules in our house is, you get down from the table, you are done. He gets down from the table. One of our dogs snarfed up what was left on the table. He comes crying that the dog ate his food. We empathized with him, but he did not get something else to eat. I'm sure, the next time he will think about whether he's really done or not. It is better for them to learn this at an early age, when the consequences are small. The older they get, the price tag for bad decisions goes up exponentially.
