From what I'm hearing, you can bank on that. Hurricanes apparently don't collide (Don't ask me why). So if Wilma holds to the predictions, Alpha won't come anywhere near us.
The way things have gone this year, I'd bank on getting to Gamma, possibly even Delta. Season goes until Nov. 30, but November's typically not very active.

A Google search tells us that Nora and Olaf nearly collided in 03, off the Baja peninsula. They do occasionally. Earth & Sky, the radio show, did a story on the phenomenon but it's no longer available.
It would be one hell of a sight.
If this year is a warm-up for next year, maybe we will be unfortunate enough to find out.
Too bad God hasn't told SOMEONE to go out and build another ARC -- New Orleans certainly needed one. I think there needs to be a totally safe shelter where folks can go to withstand these floods that would save lives.

It's official. Alpha has formed, making this the busiest storm season since records have been kept.

Anybody have any office pools on how high the count will go?
Also, I am glad that Alpha appears, as of yet (knock on wood), to be heading out to sea.

We've had more cones than Sue Grafton novels, which is really saying something.

Yeah, I found out that my source on hurricane collisions was mistaken. Oh well. That's why I'm not on the weather page. :)

Your source was probably talking about hurricanes, the mixed drinks, instead of the storms.

That could have been it, considering where we were at the time.

Most likely. I've never seen those collide.
