well Raf... you've done it again! ...right now there are a bunch of my wife's relatives headed for my house... they live in Bay City and Palacios (right on Matagorda Bay)... it's a good thing the fridge and pantry are already stocked... as long as they like chile...
I was in Houston for Alica back in 83. It wasn't any fun.
I had a customer call this morning saying they wanted to go ahead and fix a big a/c unit because they needed the space for evacuees. The compressor is in Houston of all places. The guy said they were closed but he hadn't left because the freeways were so packed that they were at a stand still.
Listen to the news and they talk about the lines of cars stranded along the highways where they ran out of gas.
I live 275 miles west of Houston. Every hotel/motel has been full for two days already. RV's are everywhere. Gas is running low because everyone is in panic mode. Forget water or batteries. The most we'll get is maybe tropical storm winds.
