I leave Friday for Mexico. I really hope Emily doesn't give me problems or an unsettled mind about the condition of my home. I'd hate to be on the beach sipping fruity drinks with little umbrellas in them and worrying about my home at the same time.
It's at Rosarito Beach. I leave tomorrow and will be coming back home on Wed. I think that's just south of San Diego, so maybe I'll be safe location and time-wise. :D--> Keeping my fingers crossed, just in case.
Hopefully, it will stay on the predicted track. These things have a nasty habit of turning north. Anything north of Corpus Christi could cause me REAL problems!
The 11 AM update says 145 mph, but that's sustained winds. Gusts don't count for categories, so they could very well have recorded over 150 in various places even though it's still a Cat 4.

And it should ONLY be a Level 1 hurricane by Friday!

I have my box of supplies ready! Didn't have to use them for the last storms. Would be nice if I didn't have to use them this year at all!

The only storms we get are in winter, and the only names they have is "12 inches of snow predicted", 20 inches of snow predicted, etc.

Steve!
Belle, I *really* don't think you have anything to worry about with Emily.
Now Frank, on the other hand . . .

I see they took Floyd off the list.
Franklin? What a name for a hurricane. Hardly strikes terror in the hearts of the populace, eh?

My daughter's family was thinking of coming down for the weekend. Maybe since Auntie Em won't be visiting, they will.

When is the reunion, and where in Mexico? It looks like Tuesday or Wednesday are the days to worry, unless you're way down near Belize.

I just read the last Hurricane Hunters last Recon Report. They are repoting surface winds at 153 mph. The 11:00 AM update should be interesting.

That would make it a Cat 5, if memory serves.
