Belle
My dog was walking me this morning and in the warm, humid weather it was the same thick woody smell that I remember so well from my Girlscout Camp days. Memories came flooding back and all these camp songs started running through my mind. I can't remember all the words to most of them, but I sure had a good time singing the parts of them that I do remember. What are some of your favorite camp songs? Here are bits of some of the ones I sang this morning: quote: Well, we're from Nairobi and we have a good team.We fight the Watoosies, they're seven feet tall I'd love to find the rest of the words to that one. I learned it at a Methodist Church Camp when I was a counselor with my best girlfriend. That's the only time I've ever heard the song. I was Baptist, but they let me come anyway. :)--> quote: said a boom-a-chik-a-boom! (echo) I said a boom-a-chik-a-rock! I said a boom-a-chik-a-boom- a-chik-a-rock-a-chick-a-boom! Oh yeah? All right. (repeat) (Just a little bit louder...) quote: She sat on a hillside and strummed her guitar, strummed her guitar, strummed her guitar. She sat on a hillside and strummed her guitar, strummed her gui-ta-a-a-ar. quote: Found a peanut, found a peanut, Found a peanut just now. [Repeat] quote: Chorus:Rise and shine, and give God the glory, glory Rise and shine, And give God the glory, glory, Rise and shine and, (clap), Give God the glory, glory, Children of the Lord. Belle
FOUND IT!!!! :D--> :D--> :D--> quote: Men from NairobiThanks to Kevin Dodge and Jennifer Litman Goldman for this one We're the men from Nairobi And our team's a good one We play the Watusi they're seven feet tall. The cannibals may eat us But they'll never beat us 'Cause we're from Nairobi The best of them all. (Chorus) Singing Umgawa, umgawa, umgawa, umgawa, umgawa, umgawa, umgawawa. They sent fifty men Down from Kilamanjaro But they didn't have what it takes. We took all the losers Out into the jungle And left them tied up for the snakes What a bite! (Chorus) The men from 'round Kenya Know our team's a good one We played them 'bout this time last year. Their number one hero Was disqualified when he Fell on a Nairobi spear What a shaft!
