there was no hand washing station. The petting zoo people were selling handi wipes and most of the families infected had bought and used the handi wipes but apparently that wasn't enough.
There seems to be more and more people coming to the hospitals since it hit the news down here.
Whatever is going on in public places with super bugs and E. coli, etc, it scares me to no end.
Last October I ended up with sepsis when a UTI got out of control (yep...nearly the exact scenario that brought about the Pope's death). I hallucinated for 3 days, the pain was excruciating (and I had a constant morphine drip), I was not aware of talking with people on the phone, and I was doing my own version of the last rights.
I am so susceptible, and things go very bad so quickly, that I get pretty freaked out about interacting too much in public places...and frequent washing is an absolute MUST in my life.
Our church had only three little lamby-pies for the kiddies to pet at the Easter egg hunt and we had tons of Purel hand sanitizer for the kids to use and very strongly suggested they use it! My grandson got the grand treatment - I think everyone in the family escorted him to the hand cleaning station at least once. HE got so he liked it!

Sad thing - this probably could have been prevented if people had WASHED THEIR HANDS before stuffing their faces with fried dough or cotton candy...

Belle,
I expect it's more food for the "sue the zoo" movement developing.

Eeeek!
Around the general KC area there's a bad strain of a super bacteria going around the gyms.
Maybe my agoraphobia is not an illness...but a prevention? LOL ;)-->

that would be the resistant strain of staph - we are having problems with it here too. My mom had it years ago - it is very very bad.
