I remember going to Washington on a church youth-group trip when I was about 15. Of the many, many sites we saw, that monument moved me more than anything else. It still does, all these years later.
Thanks for passing on those personal stories of the men the monument immortalizes.
great story pirate... I just saw the other statue in Harlingen, Tx. It's the same size I think and is on the grounds of the military school my stepson is at... one of the soldiers (they say) is buried there beside it... a great lesson in brotherhood...
