I know this-but every time I go next I shut the game down for weeks. I didn't think I was older than everyone here- maybe my memory is stuck in the cold war.
anyway-it's Mary Tyler Moore Show-Ted Knight and Jack Cassidy did look like brothers.
Robert Wagner Googled after my guess. I wasn't even close. But your right Mr. WW. it is full of celebrities alright.
Probably a lot more stars to choose from than "Scavenger Hunt",
If only I went with a different film that starred Robin Williams we wouldn't be having this conversation. I almost went with Awakenings. Imagine where we would be now!
Boogie Nights
Heather Graham
Austin Powers The Spy Who
Shagged Me
Oops, I read that wrong. It's upside down when I review the last post. I should know who Rachel Ward is but I can't picture her face.
I'll play again when I recognize the actor ending a turn,
You're naming movies where I only know 1 actor-and naming that actor.
It's a game WW. I don't control what movies you may or may have not seen, or who you may know or may not know was in the movie.
Ditto.
But I haven't seen "Sommersby," either.
George
Again, it's a game George. So you haven't seen Sommersby. I can't help that. I guess you missed this one. That's surprising when it comes to these movie threads because you are pretty sharp and know your movies. It's not so obscure as you and Mr. Wolf might think. Even if you haven't seen it.
OK.. "Sommersby" (a movie I recognized that had Richard Gere in it) is a movie in the reconstructive post civil war period and is about a presumed dead war veteran who returns home to his wife and family after 9 years and is a much different man that he was before the war. His wife insists that he isn't her husband because he acts so different, he was mean and abusive before but now he is sensitive and loving.
Suspected of taking the identify of a fellow soldier who was killed in the war, Gere rekindles a romance with his wife (his buddy's wife), but when he is suspected of murdering somebody as Sommersby he must go on trial for his life, he must choose whether to admit that he's a deserter and a fraud or to choose to go the gallows as Sommersby. His loving wife tries to convince the jury that he is not Sommersby to save him: His wife is Jody Foster. The judge stars James Earl Jones. Bill Pullman is in a love triangle with Foster.
I know someone remembers it now. And WordWolf you can now play.

The rule is against sequels to get TO actors that appear in both films. There's no rule against cameos to get to actors that are not in the first movie (ie, even if it were a sequel, it would be okay

For those of you who remember your late 70s/early 80s action comedies,
that gives you a LOT of famous actors to link from...

I'm sure that's true, but it doesn't help if I haven't seen it. :)

It's got the A-Team's Templeton Peck/ the original BG Starbuck,
the voice actor for Hong Kong Phooey/Chico and the Man's garbageman,
the captain of an interstellar garbage ship (clones not in this movie),
the voiceover artist for the end of the "Thriller" song, a famous horror movie actor,
a now-older frau who did "Dancing for the Stars" (or whatever it's called),
Charles in Charge's Buddy, aka Bibleman,
and some people I'd only know from movies.
(That would hand over an entire answer, and I know you're not lazy.)
Edit: Oh, and a musician named for a beef dish (Jim Steinman's partner.)
And a big dude who's the Governor of California, last I checked.
You've got to know SOME movies off SOME of those.

You could have linked to Ah-nuld, Scatman, Richard, Vincent, Cloris,
and you linked through a guy with about 3 cinema release roles,
to a guy with 8 (which, admittedly, is a lot more than Willie
or Tawny from the other week.)
Oddly enough, we could have seen a recursive link- to Phoebe Cates
or a lateral one- since Scatman was also in Zapped!
But let's work with what we have.
Star Trek II-the Wrath of Khan
Ricardo Montalban
Cannonball Run 2
Probably a lot more stars to choose from than "Scavenger Hunt",
which is saying something.
SH is probably barely known, except to fans of that type of farce,
but had a lot of name-talent.
(BTW, did you know they supposedly made a THIRD Cannonball Run movie,
starring nearly nobody from the previous 2?)

I'll play again when I recognize the actor ending a turn,
or can identify someone in the movie other than the actor linking into the movie.
You're naming movies where I only know 1 actor-and naming that actor.
Either that, or answering something fast before I even see it, so I can't
name those either because I'm not camping on the thread.

I don't think it's obscure. I knew Richard Gere was in it.
It's a chick film, though, and we're short on chicks playing
at the moment.
I was pointing out that I am not avoiding the thread.
I just am looking for a good opening to post.

Yeah. It's not as though I don't post some obscure ones. I just can't move this particular one along (without googling).
