It's 80's something. A brilliant movie. Plot goes a speech teacher @ a deaf school falls in love with an employee (not a student) who is deaf (academy award winner for her role), [this might be the clue you need George], and he learns how to cope w/ his girlfriends highs and lows, ups and downs.

Its not required to like a movie to play in this thread. Personally, it's one of my favs. I really like the actors.

There is a fairly long list of actors in it who made it big and some who made it bigger like .... ... ....:wink2:

Well it's so long since I saw the movie anyway and I have deliberately avoided any TV showings of it and my memory had failed to register who was in in beyond Mr Sheen. Of course there are movies that I don't like but of which I remember more! :anim-smile:

Well it appears that you are not alone Trefor Heywood when it comes to naming anyone other than Charlie Sheen in Platoon.

Tom Beringer, Sniper, Sliver Major League 11

Forest Whitaker, Phone Booth, Last king of scotland, Street Kings

John C McKinley ( Dr. Perry Cox,scrubs)

Keith David, Road House, Marked For Death, The Quick and The Dead

Johnny Depp, Pirates, Don Juan De Marco

Any of these actors will do.

Or maybe Willem Dafoe, as I used above. Pay attention, guys.

Let's see if I can refresh your memory on how this game is played. :biglaugh:

If the last person's triple link ends in a movie title (for example, Platoon),

then you give an actor from that film (say, Willem Dafoe),

followed by another film the actor was in (say, Body of Evidence),

followed by another actor from THAT movie (e.g., Madonna)

The next person then starts with another movie by the last person named (i.e., another movie starring Madonna).

 George

Why do I need reminding George? If you were referring to me. (You were generalizing right?) No need to respond. I'm just generalizing! I think?

The Outsiders

C. Thomas Howell

Grandview, USA

George

I'm out. I googled after I mistook Grandview USA, for Gran Torino. It"s fair to say that this one slipped past my radar. I'd never heard of it before. And judging the lack of response since it was posted here it's probably fair to say no body else here has heard of it either.

Burl was in 55 movies.

However surely you have seen him sing about the Ugly Bug Ball in one movie?

Sorry, but I googled it. What movie did he sing the Ugle Bug Ball Trefor Hey?

The Brass Bottle

Barbara Eden

Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea

Interesting though, Barbara Eden played in The Brass Bottle, not as a genie, but her role in the movie led to her landing the TV hit show.
