Touching history -- museum exhibits and other real stuff

IMHO Matilda demonstrated the different impact between movie/make believe and when we are able to touch history.

Matilda, over on the Aviator thread, said

quote:
...While in Chicago a few years back, my family and I did get to see the travelling Titanic Exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry...it was very interesting as well as moving.
And I thought others also have memorable "touching history" events.

Growing up in thee Califoernia Bay area, many "touches" of history were available to me, from the wonders of the museum and Palace of Fine Arts displays to being able to see and hear the Grateful Dead at the Fillmore, the Bay to Breakers marathon.... so many treasures of the heart.

I think most "touching" was circa 1995 when my brother took me to the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit when it was in San Francisco.

what touched me the most was a pile of shekels unearthed from someone's house in the Bible lands. . . Maybe about the price Judas paid? ? ?
