Hmmm... haven't seen it... the reviewer in the paper here today said the directing was good, the writing lacking... a C+... I'll still see it though (probably) because I like his stuff...
Well, the movie is full of twists that you won't expect, but there are no earth shattering things (unless the ending isn't obvious to you) that happen.
I just read a spoiler on this one, and it was just as I suspected - the premise and twist ending sounds an awful lot like the old version of Roger Corman's "Teenage Caveman"
starring Robert Vaughn. I hope that one comes out on dvd someday.
Saw what was supposed to be a documentary on the director of this film...was a shoddy publicity stunt complete with fake ouija board, supposed "revelations" from local teenagers about the director having a "connection" to "the other side", and a chat room "psychic" telling someone what they were wearing. (oh, please)
Completely turned me off to the film (not to mention insulting my intelligence).
Guess we were supposed to go: "Wow...this guy is soooo special" {gag}
Went with my brother and granddaughter to see "The Village" over the weekend. It would have made a good Twilight Zone episode (back in the '60s) It was okay. I liked their 19th century diction. It wasn't very scary though, and the plot twists were too transparent.

I gotta say that this was my least favorite M. Night Shamalama movie... to those who said it wasn't that big of a deal...
I concur.

Well, I liked the movie. I thought it had an interesting premise and instead of the Corman/TZ genre films, this one had some good points.
Maybe ya'll are just too jaded.

I like the movie as well, even though saw the ending coming early on. It was interesting and entertaining and a little scary. Well done.
But then, I'm easily entertained.
