Considering the fact that the first movie bears only passing resemblance to the first book, and the second movie (from what I've seen in the trailers) has even less resemblance to the second book, I don't think that a correlation can be made.
The camera jumpiness was wayyyyy bad in this movie. The storyline seemed a little predictible, but it kept my attention. IMHO it seems it was left open for a 3rd movie based on Jason Bourne finding out his real identity.
