Update for Firefox, Thunderbird, Mozilla

This doesn't happen often, but a patch has been issued for Mozilla based browsers that run on Windows. If you use it on a Mac, Linux, or anything else it's fine, but if you run on Windows there is a Windows security flaw that can affect Mozilla based browsers. The site I linked to tells some of the story and provides a link to download the patch.

Update on Firefox:

Their new v1.0PR is now out, and I downloaded and installed it. And it is a *significant* improvement over the previous release! Hell, better than IE even at IE-like operations and look-and-feel.

Much faster. Better and more stable feel. etc., etc. I could go on, but download it for yourself and see what I mean. I know I sound like a freekin' commercial, but just go to www.mozilla.org, download the latest release, and let us all know what you think.

It's already on my "to-do" list.

One question:

I'll need to re-enter all my bookmarks all

over again, right?

(I'm ok with reloading all the "extensions",

but I don't want to re-enter all my bookmarks.)

Another question:

If I do have to re-enter it, can I keep both

side-by-side as I do it, or do I have to

delete previous editions of FireFox to

complete the download?

I didn't see that answer when I was looking

this up.

Nope! It automaticaly imports all of your IE bookmarks. icon_smile.gif:)-->

I have no idea as to whether you have to delete any previous versions of Firebird or not; I went ahead and overwrote mine. But then again, I didn't download all the 'extensions'. If I were to guess tho', you might be prepared to download the extensions again, as new versions of applications usually do require you to reinstall whatever plug-ins that they use.

If/when you install ver. 10PR, let us know what you think of it. icon_cool.gif

*sighs*

IE has "Favourites", FireFox has "Bookmarks."

I know it imports IE "Favourites" and makes them "Bookmarks".

What I want to know-and, from your post, you know the answer-

is,

if I install it over a previous FireFox,

will it retain my FireFox "bookmarks",

or will it delete them all?
