I just want to bring this topic back to the forefront. Can we settle on a date? May? June? July? How about just a quick lunch with the NOVA folks and then a picnic later with the families? Im just dying to meet some of yous!!
I lived in Arlington, 81-82, right after my DC WOW year. I have lived in Maryland most of the time, but am originally from Oklahoma and may be moving back there within the next year.
Looks like northern Virginia is the place to be on Saturday evening (2/19). Per the Open forum and the "Let's have a D.C. Gspot party," several Gspotters are getting together to party with Steve! and Cindy!, as they visit the Nation's Capital!!!
Anyone know Sylvia King from the Glen Allen area. Heard her husband Bob fell asleep a few years ago? Used to fellowship with them in the 80's. They lived in Amirillo Tx for a while.

I am Sylvia and Bob's son Robbie. I was just a little one when they were in Amirillo.
My father passed away 8 years ago now. My mom, Sylvia is remarried and doing well.

Exxie,
Roanoke is a cool town. Your friend will be fine there. I have some old business contacts if he/she needs a place to start looking for a job.
The actual closest big town is Winston-Salem NC. They have a bunch of colleges, an opera and even some ballets. Your friend will be okay.
Let me know if you have questions.

I Love Bagpipes
For any of you NC/southern VA folks who want a taste of Mayberry and like contemporary Christian music:
Todd Agnew, Michael O'Brien, Joanna Martino...and 3 local bands: Common Creek, Broken, and Refuge
Sunday 8/27 in the amphitheatre across from the Andy Griffith Playhouse. It's free (love offering). Opens at 4:30 but bands don't start until 7:00.
See
http://www.wbfj.org/or call (336) 786-5627
I'm a Todd Agnew fan and my son is a "roadie" with Refuge....a teenage band and they are pumped!!!
