Not trying to step on any toes here, but, if no one minds, I thought I would toss in an easy one (I hope) just to keep the party going while we wait for Pawnbroker.
A preachment, dear friend

On John Barleycorn, nicotene and the temptations of Eve.

Hot dog, my razor's broke
Water dripping up the spout
But I don't care-----------------------.
Hint: It was released the same year that the "Summer of Love" took place.

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

"Spill the Wine" by War
If I'm right, somebody else may have to take it as I'm heading out of town early Monday morning.

You're right.
(I got this one last time we saw it on this thread.)
Any chance you can post the next one, or should I just take it or something?

Heard this oldie but goody tonight on the radio. Anyone else remember it?
Love has played its games on me so long.
I started to believe I'd never find anyone,
that could try to convince me to give in.
Said you can't win.
But one day the sun came shining through.
The rain had stopped, and the skies were blue.
And oh, what a revelation to see...
someone was saying "I love you" to me.
(chorus: )
I was a lonely man with empty arms to fill.
Until I found a piece of paradise to call my own.
And life is worth living again.
For, to love you, to me, is to live.
(repeat chorus)

I can't name the artist, so if this one depended on me, the odds would be very slim I could
give the correct answer....

Based on the cadence and the"YO,******" I would have to guess it's rap.
That's as close as I can get.
Hmmm------Now what rhymes with "orange"?

That's why I try to confine myself to songs released before 1986.
Very few people here have even HEARD songs that rhyme with "umpty."
(They were unable to identify Fiona Apple's hit "Criminal",
so I've adjusted my expectations.)
Please re-select and post again.

Yup, you got it.
Here's the verse I always liked:
Saw a man walkin' upside down
My TV's on the blink
Made Galileo look like a Boy Scout
Sorry 'bout that, let it all hang out

Here's one
Candy took the pearls, got ahead of the girls
Got on top and found the secret entrance
Are you satisfied?
Through neon doors, 'cross killing floors
She got sucked into a champagne desert
Are you satisfied?
Daddy said: I'll break your bones
If you come home dressed in Peacock clothes
Mother said: quit the show
She didn't want the neighbours to know
Candy had to quit the show
Well, Candy didn't care, when she started her affair
With the studs and the mares of the night
Are you satisfied?
Teddy knows the rule, of the underground school
He's got Candy wrapped 'round his finger
Are you satisfied?
