None of us are free if one of us is chained none of us are free.
This line typifies a technique used in blues lyrics where one sentence runs into the next and the punctuation that seperates them is not so easily discerned.
"King" Solomon Burke has an extremely powerful version on his "Don't Give Up On Me" CD.
Thanks, Ca.----------Were the "da,da's a clue 'cause if so, I would have to be a hog here and jump right in with "You're not Smiling"-------Audience (One of the greatest unknown bands of the '70's)
I heard they have some new stuff out that I am going to check out.
Until then, though, I wouldn't go near the house on the hill!

JACKDAW!!!
Waysider, You are only the second person I've known that has heard of that band! (the other being the guy that turned me on to them)... I still have my original LP and the DVD as well... a young dead head I used to work with in Atlantic City used to call them my "Kazoo music" because of the way they mix the sax...
I've been in to them since '72... and trying to turn others on to them (as well as Marillion, the Marillion with Fish not the Steve guy)
Mr. Strange------Very fine stuff, indeed. When you listen to a group like Audience you never really think to yourself"Gee, listen to how many notes they can cram into the solo." It's all about the total effect. I don't have the capability to post anything more than text but if I did I would post "Indian Summer". I think a lot of people would be taken back by the impact this type of material can really have. I really think that the Beatles also had that kind of influence also on how people listen to music. There is a movie/dvd that came out a few years ago about the house band that played on dozens and dozens of the Motown hits that are so much a part of our musical history as a generation. It is called "Standing in the Shadows of Motown". It gives a behind the scenes look at how a core group of musicians created that sound that defined the Motown sound. Highly recommended.
But I have veered off course. I still don't know if this is the tune CaDreaming had in mind.

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Well Im pretty surre that I'm right so lets try this one...
I got no quarrel with the midwest,
the folks out there have given me their best.
I lived there all my life, I've been their guest,
I sure have loved it, too.
I'm tired of looking at the TV news.
I'm tired of driving hard and paying dues.
I figure, baby, I've got nothing to lose,
I'm tired of being blue.

That would have to be "Katmandu"--------------Bob Seger
You better listen my brother
"cause if you do you can hear
There are voices still calling across the years
And they're cryin' across the ocean
And they're cryin' across the land
And they will until we all come to understand

Man, 4 A.M. look a lot better when your just going to bed than it does when your just getting up. :(
They're goin ruin the air we breathe Lord have mercy.
They're gonna ruin us all, by and by.
I'm telling you all beware
I don't think they really care
I think they just sit up there and just get high.

Too many lives they've spent across the ocean.
Too much money been spent upon the moon.
Well, until they make it right
I hope they never sleep at night
They better make some changes
And do it soon.

You do not need suspenders. :)
A three-chord symphony crashes into space
The moon is hanging upside down
I don't know why it is I'm still on the case
