boy WS you sure tend to lean to the obscure..Luckily (or maybe not so luckily) I was obsessed by music as a teen. anyway, I think that I can find this horse..
You on the right track WS The song was "unconsious Power" IB's first single.. There are no more verses except '...Its the unconcious power" between the 2 verses and at the end
Quite an excellent choice, Mr. Strange. The guy who penned this one has been quite active in the past decade cranking out some pretty decent blues, having departed from the group that made this tune a hit.The name of his subsequent band is a bit amusing in light of what has been discussed on this here forum as of late.

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

Friends---------( Ya gotta have 'em)
At least that's what The Divine Miss M (Bette Mittler) says.
Above the hills, higher than eagles we're gliding
Suspended in the sky
Over the hill, straight for the sun we were riding.
My eyes filled with light behind those black walls.
Below was a bottomless canyon.
Floating with no sound, ghosts far below seemed to be suddenly rising, exploding all around.

Looks like I got a tough one...
So here's another verse
Removing all your inhibitions
Releasing complete freedom of thought
Sensations of ev'ry sense will prepare
With this you will see ev'ry thing.
Andd the album its from was titled "HEAVY"

"Heavy",I think, was a product of Iron Butterfly but the tune still evades me.
Inna Gadda Da Vida was one of those tunes that broke the "3 minute rule", along with Light My Fire by The Doors.

are we doing Raf's or Wasway's?
If it's Raf's, it's Don Henley and "all she wants to do is dance"
If it's Wasway's I don't know any more than that I think waysider is on to something...

Here's one from our youth:
I should have known you'd bid me farewell
There's a lesson to be learned from this, and I learned it very well
Now, I know you're not the only starfish in the sea
If I never hear your name again, it's all the same to me

Tom S.---------We did this one about a month or so ago.(Red Rubber Ball by Cyrkle)
ChattyKathy did some cool stuff on her post.
How about another one from the same era?

OK... did she mention it was co-written by Paul Simon? I've got another one.

I don't know if it's quite as far back as "Red Rubber Ball" but how about this:
Now, when i talked to god i knew he'd understand
He said, "stick by my side and i'll be your guiding hand
But don't ask me what i think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to"
Should be pretty easy for this crowd...

This is somewhat
Jeremy Spencer has a new release. Somewhat generic but not too bad, all in all.
Sorry, it was a fleeting thought that popped in my head.
Tom Strange-------Paul Simon co-wrote "Red Rubber Ball"?
Who'dda thunk it?

More stuff!!
Peter Green Was Really Good
Bob welch was better
All that stuff they did in the late 70's wasnt as good as
It's the same kind of story
That seems to come down from long ago
Two friends having coffee together
When something flies by their window
It might be out on that lawn
Which is wide, at least half of a playing field
Because there's no explaining what your imagination
Can make you see and feel
