I looked it up George. He was the lead singer. I'm horrible with bands and names. I can guess a song sometimes but can't answer cause I don't know who sang it. :D-->
I had some music trivia buff friends so sometimes I remember odd things about a band/singer/song/album.....
It's the Crash Test Dummies. I just love their music style. It's great dog-walking music. I just have to be careful about singing out loud while I'm walking....scares the neighbors.
Here's the lyrics and then I'll pick a different song:
Superman's Song
Crash Test Dummies
------------------------------------
Tarzan wasn't a ladies' man
He'd just come along and scoop 'em up under his arm
Like that, quick as a cat in the jungle
But Clark Kent, now there was a real gent
He would not be caught sittin' around in no
Junglescape, dumb as an ape doing nothing
Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him
Hey Bob, Supe had a straight job
Even though he could have smashed through any bank
In the United States, he had the strength, but he would not
Folks said his family were all dead
Their planet crumbled but Superman, he forced himself
To carry on, forget Krypton, and keep going
Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy
And sometimes I despair the world will never see
Another man like him
Tarzan was king of the jungle and Lord over all the apes
But he could hardly string together four words: "I Tarzan, You Jane."
Sometimes when Supe was stopping crimes
I'll bet that he was tempted to just quit and turn his back
On man, join Tarzan in the forest
But he stayed in the city, and kept on changing clothes
In dirty old phonebooths till his work was through
Close enough. It's actually "Silhouettes" by Herman's Hermits (starring Peter Noone). I was really into Herman's Hermits, and this was my favorite song. It wasn't until about 30 years later, though, when I heard a clear recording of the Rays' version, that I actually understood all the words. Until then, I hadn't known that the guy was actually at the wrong house!
I started listening to the radio about the time the Beatles hit it big. In more recent years, I've gotten into 50's rock and roll, especially Dion and Little Richard. Unfortunately, in the past year Houston's "oldies" station has abandoned the 50's, now playing only 60's and 70's songs. (And I'm really getting tired of hearing Wings and Elton John all the time!)
HEY! I'm not old and I knew the song once you mentioned it......'course, my daddy had a Herman's Hermits album I used to listen to with him all the time. :D-->
Pirate, I love "I'm Henry the Eighth I Am"!!! :D-->
I'm also quite the Parrot Head. When I moved to Florida, I thought I'd be sitting on the beach at a tiki bar singing Jimmy Buffet Songs like, "Why Don't We Get Drunk & Screw" and sipping fruity drinks with little umbrellas in them. Boy was I wrong!! Work gets in the way too much!!
But I do know my Jimmy Buffet songs anyway somehow. ;)-->

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

You would think a song about Tarzan and Superman would be right up my alley, but I haven't the foggiest idea what this song is.

The only "Crash Test Dummies" song most people know (if any) has no vowels in the
title.
This song, however, I know.
"What I am", by Edie Brickell, aka Mrs Paul Simon.
(Unless they divorced and I missed it.)
Technically, Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians.

Since I'm sure about my answer (I can sing the whole song),
I'll post the next song....
I think someone can get this one with just one line.
"In God, I know I'm one."

Sounds like "House of the Rising Sun" (which, I've learned recently, can be sung to the tune of "Amazing Grace" or "Joy to the World") by the Animals.
I'll wait for confirmation, though.

CORRECT!
According to local legend, the original song (which doesn't have the line
I used-it's a different line) was based on a house of ill-repute run by
madam Marianne LeSoleil Levant (Marianne the Rising Sun), and its door was
marked only with the rising sun. Local tours will show you the location, I
hear.
I like songs with trivia. Sue me.

Here's a hint: This was a big hit for a "British Invasion" group, although it was first recorded in the 50's.

Why, because you know the same songs we do?
I started listening to the radio about the time the Beatles hit it big. In more recent years, I've gotten into 50's rock and roll, especially Dion and Little Richard. Unfortunately, in the past year Houston's "oldies" station has abandoned the 50's, now playing only 60's and 70's songs. (And I'm really getting tired of hearing Wings and Elton John all the time!)

My favorite Herman's Hermits song was "I'm Henry the Eighth, I Am." Really stupid, but I thought it was great when I was 13.
Next up:
I just bought a waterbed it's filled up for me and you
