Is that a new song? It sounds like the Jackson 5's "ABC."
George
I didn't announce a change of song- it's the same song.
This song made it to 1 on the Top UK Singles and Top Canadian Singles, and 1 on the US Billboard Top 100, both weekly and for that year. In fact, it made it to 5 on the Billboard Chart for the Decade. And it fits under my usual rule of "1985 or earlier."
"Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace. I dream at night, I can only see your face. I look around, but it's you I can't replace. I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace. I keep crying, "Baby, baby, please..." "
"Oh can't you see, you belong to me? How my poor heart aches with every step you take."

"Every single day,
Every word you say,
Every game you play,
Every night you stay"
Team by team reporters baffled, trump, tethered crop.
Look at that low plane!
Fine then.
Uh oh, overflow, population, common group, but it'll do.
Save yourself,
Serve yourself.
World serves its own needs,
Listen to your heart bleed. Tell me with the rapture and the
Reverent in the right
Right.
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright
Light, feeling pretty psyched.
"IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT (and I feel fine)", by R.E.M.
IIRC, it's off "Document." Their biggest hits were off "Green" (after "Document"), and IMHO, their best song, "Can't Get There From Here", wasn't on either album. All of those were 80s albums, I think.
"The ocean is a desert with its life underground and a perfect disguise all above. Under the cities lies a heart made of ground but the humans will give no love."
Ridin' down the highway, goin' to a show
Stop in all the byways, playin' rock 'n' roll
Gettin' robbed, gettin' stoned, gettin' beat up
Broken boned, gettin' had, gettin' took
I tell you folks it's harder than it looks
If you think it's easy doin' one night stands
Try playin' in a rock roll band
Hotel motel, make you wanna cry
Lady do the hard sell know the reason why
Gettin' old, gettin' gray, gettin' ripped off
Under-paid, gettin' sold, second hand
That's how it goes playin' in a band
If you wanna be a star of stage and screen
Look out it's rough and mean
Well it's a long way
It's a long way, you should've told me

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

YES!
The previous song was The Police's "Murder By Numbers."

I'll give it to you, since I don't know if Eric Carmen recorded a version.
It's Dream Weaver by Gary Wright.

I really thought this line would give it away. Second line was a big clue.
