They say around the way you've asked for me There's even talk about you wanting me I must admit that's what I want to hear But that's just talk until you take me there oh
If it's true don't leave me all alone out here Wondering if you're ever gonna take me there Tell me what you're feeling cause TITLE Girl you've gotta let me know which way to go
CHORUS
My every thought is of this being true It's getting harder not to think of you Girl I'm exactly where I want to be The only thing is I need you here with me - oh
If it's true don't leave me all alone out here Wondering if you're ever gonna take me there Tell me what you're feeling cause TITLE Girl you've gotta let me know which way to go

Let's see....Marc Anthony..... don't know much of his stuff.... but I can hear the music now.
I don't know the actual name, but I would say "Istanbul"
And the only band I know of that sang it was They Might Be Giants
The official title is "Istanbul (not Constantinople)", so you're correct.
They Might Be Giants did the cover, at something like double-time of the original song with different instruments. The original was performed by "The Four Lads."  BTW, it seems that the lyrics differed slightly.  TMBG sang "Every gal in Constantinople lives in Istanbul not Constantinople.." The Four Lads sang "Every gal in Constantinople is a Miss-tan-bul, not Constantinople..."   I think I prefer the original lyrics. The remake was a lot of fun, though.    Â

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

New song

There's even talk about you wanting me
I must admit that's what I want to hear
But that's just talk until you take me there
If it's true don't leave me all alone out here
Wondering if you're ever gonna take me there

That last line looks familiar, but I can't hear any music with it (yet).

Thought the same thing. Like a Prayer has a line like that but that's not it.

Probably Marc Anthony. I've heard of him but could not name a single song of his.

Next song. I hope someone gets it, since I'll have trouble not including the title.

"Even old New York was once New Amsterdam.
Why they changed it I can't say.
People just liked it better that way."

No, you can't go back to Constantinople.
Been a long time gone, Constantinople.
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That's nobody's business but the Turks."

Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night.
Every gal in Constantinople"

This song was a hit in 1953 for the original band, and in 1990 for an "alternative" band.
