I thought we weren't using the "Songs remembered from one line thread anymore"? Maybe WordWolf is away from his computer and not able to post, so I'll go ahead and solve the puzzle Pat!
We used to have a thread called The Nostalgia Thread. It was sort of a "mash up" thread about old TV shows, etc. It was common for players who knew the answer to give other clues which showed they knew the answer, without actually giving it away. (Eventually, someone would give the answer, and the game would move on.) Raf does this in most of these threads. For example, he knows the answer to my "Movie Mash Up" challenge, but has refrained from answering, instead giving clues of his own. It's his way.
Didn't know what time it was and the lights were low I leaned back on my radio Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll 'lotta soul, he said Then the loud sound did seem to fade Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase That weren't no D.J. that was hazy cosmic jive
I had to phone someone so I picked on you Hey, that's far out so you heard him too Switch on the TV we may pick him up on Channel Two Look out your window I can see his light If we can sparkle he may land tonight Don't tell your poppa or he'll get us locked up in fright

There's a [song title] waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a [song title] waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

Hey, that's far out so you heard him too!
Switch on the TV
We may pick him up on channel two

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

A quick check with Google indicates that you are correct. Your turn.

I thought "You wish" was an adequate hint.

Was that supposed to mean something Raf? I don't have time to play games.

"Dream on!" is an expression that is synonymous with the expression "You wish!" It's a reply that someone has an unrealistic expectation.

Once I realized what the song was, I got the clue. I had just thought that Raf was being surly.

I do that when I know the answer but I don't want to take the next turn.
Now if you'll excuse me, I seriously need to find a Three Musketeers. Anyone know where I can find one?
Human, you're up.

It is Starman. The first single released from his 1972 album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars.

I would have gotten the title cut a lot faster, but that's just me. Then again, I heard a commercial recently use "Starman", so what do I know?
