Plant a seed, plant a flower, plant a rose You can plant any one of those Keep planting to find out which one grows It's a secret no one knows It's a secret no one knows Oh, no one knows
I wouldn't really know what peppy is but were looking for something depressing, dead, dark and dreary.. a number on from the 90's..upbeat...Bittersweet Symphony is dark but not upbeat, Nirvana Smells Like Teen Spirit isn't peppy (whatever that means) but its dreary. And sorry I don't know how to take off this image .
You have so many relationships in this life Only one or two will last You go through all the pain and strife Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast Oh yeah And they're gone so fast, yeah
Oh, so hold on the ones who really care In the end they'll be the only ones there And when you get old and start losing your hair Can you tell me who will still care? Can you tell me who will still care? Oh care
...
Plant a seed, plant a flower, plant a rose You can plant any one of those Keep planting to find out which one grows It's a secret no one knows It's a secret no one knows Oh, no one knows
...
In an [title] they're gone In an [title] they're not there In an [title] they're gone In an [title] they're not there Until you lose your hair Oh but you don't care, yeah
...
Can you tell me? Oh No, you can't 'cause you don't know Can you tell me? Oh yeah You say you can but you don't know Can you tell me? Oh (which flower's going to grow?) No, you can't, but you don't know Can you tell me? (if it's going to be a daisy or a rose?) You say you can but you don't know Say you can but you don't know You don't know how, you don't know how
Anytime i need to see your face i just close my eyes
and I'm taken to a place where your crystal mind
and magenta feelings take up shelter at the base of my spine
sweet like a chick-a-cherry cola
I don't need to try to explain I just hold on tight and If it happens again I may move so slightly to the arms And the lips and the face Of The Human Cannonball that I need to I want to
If the new song is from the "same era" (late 1990s, early 2000s) I will almost certainly not get it. I could name a couple of groups from that time, because my stepkids were listening, but I doubt I could name a single title.
Its possible the I've heard the song but that doesn't mean I understood the lyrics. I'm not recognizing these lyrics even though it was a number one song.
we're on a new song now. Not sure this one made it to number 1, but it was a big hit.

Okay Raf, but what was the previous songs title that was number one if you wouldn't mind telling me from all those years ago? I'm wondering if I was awake or not when it came out?

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

Maybe you ought to give a poor dog a bone Raf and narrow this down. Are we playing hardball with a wiffle bat?

I said three Beatles were alive AT MOST. That gives you a span of more than 20 years.
it's a 90s song.
And peppy. upbeat.
Not that you can tell from these depressing lyrics

Only one or two will last
You go through all the pain and strife
Then you turn your back and they're gone so fast

In an [title] they're not there
In an [title] they're gone
In an [title] they're not there
Until you lose your hair
Oh but you don't care, yeah
No, you can't 'cause you don't know
Can you tell me? Oh yeah
You say you can but you don't know
Can you tell me? Oh (which flower's going to grow?)
No, you can't, but you don't know
Can you tell me? (if it's going to be a daisy or a rose?)
You say you can but you don't know
Say you can but you don't know
You don't know how, you don't know how

Well, the title begins with a vowel (or maybe an H). I'd guess "Instant," but I'd still have no idea who performed the song.

wrong and wrong
Though "instant" would be synonym for the title, which is not a word.

The original singers still perform the song on occasion. They sound almost nothing like the original singers, naturally.

That still could be late 90s. My car stereo was set to the oldies station, back then.
(Now the "oldies" stations play 90s music!)

Nice poetry.
No idea about the title or performer.

The fast-sung lyrics meant that one phrase was often mis-heard--- as a "chicken cherry cola" and similar.
It's "a DRINK OF Cherry Cola."
This was Savage Garden's breakout hit, "I Need You." I liked it a lot, but liked their other 2 hits better,
"Truly, Madly, Deeply" and "I Knew I Loved You".

close enough.
I Want You was the name of the song.
And according to the lyrics included with the cd, it is indeed a chick-a-cherry cola.
You're up
