Actually, she recently updated the lyrics and included a line about a song called ironic not having any examples of irony. Which actually IS an example of irony.
Not always clear, with you; but this time it was. :)
My problem with a lot of the dance music of the 90's is that I never listen to the lyrics, when I'm out on the dance floor. I'm sure I would have remembered the melody of "1999," but very few of the words.

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

"My love bigger than a Cadillac.
I'll try to show it when you're driving me back.
Your love for me got to be real.
A-for you to know just how I feel."
"I'm a-gonna tell you how it's gonna be
You're gonna give your love to me."
(I'm running out of lyrics already.)

You've got it-
Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away."
I was listening to the Rolling Stone's cover when I was posting.

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well, isn't this nice."

That was the closest to "IRONIC" that I thought the actual song got.
I wonder if anyone explained that to Alanis Morrissette anytime.
(However her last name is spelled.)

Don't bother knockin' on my door
I got a lion in my pocket,
And baby he's ready 2 roar."

One of Prince's biggest hits is OBSCURE?
You named the song and artist correctly, of course.

I drove Mrs. Beans car this morning and a Prince CD was in the player and I thought "I bet that's a Prince song".

"On The Dark Side", John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band?
Band got its name almost by accident. They had a band and needed a name.
They relaxed after a recording session and started naming things around the room.
"How about The Chairs?" "How about The Tables?"
"How about Beaver Brown?"
One band member found a can of paint, called "beaver brown."

This was a song that wasn't released by any of the usual artists.....
"I drive really slow in the ultra-fast lane
While people behind me are going insane."
"Sometimes I park in handicapped spaces
While handicapped people make handicapped faces."

"I'm just a regular Joe with a regular job.
I'm your average white suburbanite slob.
I like football and porno and books about war.
I've got an average house with a nice hardwood floor.
My wife and my job, my kids and my car
My feet on my table and a Cuban cigar.
But sometimes that just ain't enough
To keep a man like me interested
(Oh no)
No way
(Uh-uh)
No, I've gotta go out and have fun
At someone else's expense."
"I drive really slow in the ultra-fast lane
While people behind me are going insane."
"Sometimes I park in handicapped spaces
While handicapped people make handicapped faces."

If you can't think of the name, perhaps you can think of
the type of guy this describes.
