OK. Got one.

I catch the paperboy

But things don't really change

I'm standing in the wind

But I never wave bye-bye

But I try, I try

There's no sign of life

It's just the power to charm

I'm lying in the rain

But I never wave bye-bye

A few more lines perhaps will jive the memory.

Church on time... terrifies me

Church on time... makes me party

Church on time... put my trust in God and Man

God and Man.... no confessions

God and Man.... no religion

God and Man.... don't believe

Never gonna fall for MODERN LOVE.

Walks besides me MODERN LOVE.

Walks on by, MODERN LOVE

Gets me to the church on time....

"As shadows fall, I pass a small cafe where we would dance at night.

And I can't help recalling how it how it felt to kiss and hold you tight."

"If you should find you miss the sweet and tender love we used to share.

Just go back to the places where we used to go, and I'll be there.

Well, how can I forget you, girl?"

"I walk along the city streets, you used to walk along with me

And every step I take reminds me of just how we used to be.

Oh, how can I forget you, girl?"

Artists who did versions of this song included Dionne Warwick, Jose Feliciano,

The Four Seasons, Jay and the Americans, Peggy Lee, Martha and the Vandellas,

and Johnny Mathis, not counting the version I'm familiar with.

This was "(There's) Always Something There To Remind Me."

The version I knew was by "Naked Eyes" in 1982.

Don't wish it away

Don't look at it like it's forever

Between you and me, I could honestly say

That things can only get better

And while I'm away

Dust out the demons inside

And it won't be long before you and me run

To the place in our hearts where we hide

While Raf is away from this thread lets go with another song.

Gazing at People

Some hand in hand

Just what I'm going through

They can understand

Some try to tell me

Thoughts they cannot defend,

Just what you want to be

You'll be in the end

Beauty I've always missed

With these eyes before

Just what the truth is

I can't say anymore

Cause I love you

Yes, I love you

Oh, I love you

Gazing at People

Some hand in hand

Just what I'm going through

They can understand

Some try to tell me

Thoughts they cannot defend,

Just what you want to be

You'll be in the end

And, I love you

Yes, I love you

Oh, how I love you, Oh, how I love you

At least now I recognize it, but I don't remember the title our artist. sad.gif

George

They still tour today, albeit with only 3 original band members. They refer to themselves as an progressive, classical rock band.

I know V P Weirwolf dissed them at the advanced class and warned that they had become a bad influence in our culture. Whatever.

"Nights in White Satin," the Moody Blues.

Yes. That may have been their most well known song. At the climax of the 7:38 sec. album version of Nights In White Satin you get the GONG sound from the cymbal. wink2.gif

Hey, does anyone recognize the saying that Vp paraphrased in the advanced class around the late 80's that illustrates that certain phenomenon or certain people like The Moody Blues were having on culture and were therefore influencing social thinking, social views?

I remember he threw a couple of other names out there that had majorly impacted society. I'm just curious.

  • 2 weeks later...

Yes I am.

Coming in from London from over the pole

Flying in a big airliner

Chicken flying everywhere around the plane

Could we ever feel much finer

There's a guy with a ticket to Mexico

Could he ever look much stranger

Walkin' in the hall with his things and all

Smilin', said he was the Lone Ranger
