Interesting. I recognize the last two lines (though I can't think of the name of the song); but I don't recognize the rest. I imagine it's either because the lyrics are garbled, or I just never paid attention! :)
What have I done! MY computer just went neon on me. I pressed down on some key and wallah.
Anyway, many of their songs (The Group from my clue), were sang with an indistinguishable style because I think that's the way the singer wanted it. Almost intentional.
Often, songs are covered by a number of artists. Sometimes, there are slight modifications of the lyrics which differentiate one version from another, so you should give the performer. No harm, no foul. You're up.

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

"The two of us need look no more.
We both found what we were looking for.
With a friend to call my own
I'll never be alone
And you my friend will see
you've got a friend in me."
"You're always running here and there.
You feel you're not wanted anywhere.
If you ever look behind and don't like what you find
There's something you should know you've got a place to go."
¨I used to say "I and me"
Now it's us now it's we
(I used to say "I is me")
(now it's us now it's we)¨
This song's from 1972 and has been re-released a few times.
(11 not counting remixes and covers.)
The movie this was the theme song to was NOT ¨Willard.¨

And if that diamond ring won't shine
He's gonna surely break this heart of mine
And that's why I keep on tellin' everybody
Say yeah, yeah whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, uh, oh

Thanks George. I got one!
It's been a long time since the book of love,
I can't count the tears of a life with no love.
Carry me back, carry me back,
Carry me back, baby, where I come from.
It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.

Seems so long since we walked in the moonlight,
Making vows that just can't work right.
Open your arms, opens your arms,
Open your arms, baby, let my love come running in.
It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.

This is Rock n' Roll ~Led Zeppelin~
I'll go again.
Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through
But through the eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday

Face down in the street with a gun in his hand

Yes, though in this thread, you're supposed to give the performer, as well. I'll give you Elvis.
Your turn.

Some will come and some will go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moments sunlight
Fading in the grass
