"Silhouettes" It was my favorite song when Herman's Hermits did it, though I confess I didn't understand the words correctly. It wasn't until I heard the Rays' version of it on an oldies station that I realized that the guy was at the wrong house!
But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

One of my favorite CCR songs. Only trouble is I can't tell what John Fogerty is saying but love the song!
Sweet Hitchhiker ~CCR~
Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon
Going to the candidates' debate
Laugh about it shout about it when you've got to choose
Every way you look at it you lose

Mrs. Robinson...Simon and Garfunkel

Oh, I'd catch a glimpse of her every once in a while
taking her meal, bathing, fine lady
This one day I happen to be real close to her
and I saw her standing over there
so I snuck up on her nice and easy
got my rope out
and I flung it in the air!

Thanks waysider. I'll take it.
Got myself arrested, Wound me up in jail.
Richmond 'bout to blow up, communication failed.
If you see the answer, now's the time to say.
All I want, All I want is to get you down to pray.

Few more lines:
Saw the people standin' thousand years in chains.
Somebody said it's diff'rent now, look, it's just the same.
Pharoahs spin the message, round and round the truth.
They could have saved a million people, How can I tell you?

Guess that one's not that easy. It's Wrote A Song For Everyone, ~CCR~
Here's one:
Well, I spent some time in the Mudville Nine
Watching it from the bench
You know I took some lumps, when the mighty Case struck out

Now, when I was just a little boy,
Standin' to my Daddy's knee,
My poppa said, "Son, don't let the man get you
Do what he done to me."

Here's more:
Just get an electric guitar
Then take some time
And learn how to play
And with your hair swung right
And your pants too tight
It's gonna be all right
Then it's time to go downtown
Where the agent man won't let you down

The song is <a href="http://youtu.be/h2uLuYrCyB8">"So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star."</a>
If you follow the above link (sorry, no embed allowed), you'll find Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers rocking the song.
If you listen closely, during the guitar solo there's a short rift (about 2:19) that's quite similar to "Eight Miles High,"
a homage, if you will, to The Byrds, who originally wrote and recorded the song.
Here's a new one:
Ride, take a free ride
Take my place
Have my seat
It's for free.

"Space Cowboy" - Stevie Miller

Who would be a poor man, a beggar man, a thief

Here's more:
Laughing in the playground
Gets no kicks from little boys
Would rather make it with a leeching grey
Or maybe her attention is drawn by Aqualung
Who watches through the railings as they play
