Curiosity got the best of me so I googled and youtubed. I must say, I have never heard this song before. I think it must have been popular at a point in time when I was busy drinking RC Cola and eating Moonpies from the Wayside Truck Stop. I didn't have access to a lot of the then-current music scene back then.....cool song, though.
Very cool song. It came out when I was in high school and is one of my favorite songs by that band. It's by one of the most successful and popular bands of that era, but is not characteristic of their most popular tunes.
Here's another line from the song. If this doesn't give it away, I'll yield the floor.

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

Don't you think the time is right for us to find
All the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time?
And can you see which way we should turn together or alone?
I can never see what's right or what is wrong.

It has a bit of a local connection so maybe I've heard it more often than most. Still, it continues to get a lot of airtime on satellite stations.

Ah yes. It's "Amy (Falling In and Out of Love With You)" by the Pure Prarie League. Great song.

They just wanna get their hands on you
You get whatever you choose

Love is but the song we sing,
And fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
