waysider
OK---Here's some more blues. Gotta keep it somewhat mainstream. This one's been covered by hundreds of people since Hudson Whittaker(Tampa Red) wrote it back in 1928. Thus, it's gotten lots of airplay and the artist is--------- whoever you prefer. ( My personal favorite is Paul Butterfield, but Clapton did a pretty good version recently as well.) The cops took my baby in. She didn't need no bail. She shook it once for the judge And he put the cops in jail.

bfh
Sorry, Waysider, I've been busy. Plus, the weather was just too dam nice to be inside today. Not too obscure; it's a great song, with great lyrics, especially the first verse: When you love a woman Baby love her with a thrill Cause, if you don't Somebody else will Gotta love that! I didn't know that Tampa Red wrote it way back in 1928. And I didn't know Paul Butterfield did it either. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the Clapton clip - WOW. He sure can make that guitar talk. He is insanely talented. Hope he records it, so I can add it to one of my playlists.

WordWolf
*looks it up* That's the song. And Elvis DID sing it. With any song, any singer/band who did the song counts. (General rule of airplay, of course applies. If we can't prove they did it, you might be making it up.) I think the weirdest correct answer was one of mine, when I identified the performer of "Chubby Clementine" as DANNY AIELLO- since he sang it for his "monologue" slot hosting Saturday Night Live. Hey, it was a national broadcast, and you CAN look up what he did.... and he's the only one I've actually heard sing it... So, your turn, dooj! Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.
