...I can hear the 'euro type sirens' now... (worked in beautifully with the music)

Those were sirens? I never could place them.

Reminded me a little of a bo'sun's whistle or something.

"You're in hiding,

And you hold your meetings.

We can hear you coming.

We know what you're after.

We're wise to you this time-

We won't let you kill the laughter."

"An eye for an eye;

Well before you go under...

Can you feel the resistance?

Can you feel the thunder?"

That is the song.

The artist would either be Red Rider, or Tom Cochrane.

Never really looked at the lyrics before.

They seem very much like the GSC.

"Lunatic fringe

I know you're out there

You're in hiding

And you hold your meetings

We can hear you coming

We know what you're after

We're wise to you this time

We won't let you kill the laughter.

Lunatic fringe

In the twilight's last gleaming

This is open season

But you won't get too far

We know you've got to blame someone

For your own confusion

But we're on guard this time

Against your final solution

We can hear you coming

(We can hear you coming)

No you're not going to win this time

We can hear the footsteps

(We can hear the footsteps)

Way out along the walkway

Lunatic fringe

We know you're out there

But in these new dark ages

There will still be light

An eye for an eye;

Well before you go under...

Can you feel the resistance?

Can you feel the thunder?"

Your turn, Tom!

(The whistle-things I'm thinking of are at the very beginning of the song.)

Maybe WasWay will chime in on this one.

A band from his hometown covered it and had a big regional hit with it.

Can you condemn a man

If your faith he doesn't hold?

Say the color of his skin

Is the color of his soul?

Hint: The band that did this tune originally, spawned some "monstah" guitar players (Yes, that's plural)

I'm thinking that he'll probably get it... he's kind of a "rain man" in that way...

Wait a minute.... is it Jeff Beck

"Better man than I" or something?

lol

"Step right this way, sir, and pick out a fine prize for the lovely young lady."

Mister You're A Better Man Than I

Actually, I was looking for Yardbirds, but Jeff Beck was their featured Guitar player at that point in time and I did mention guitarists in my clue.

The group that had a big regional hit when they covered it was Terry Knight and The Pack(forerunner of Grand Funk Railroad)

av-1834.jpgWe have all been here before.

Yeah, but that's not the title. That is a line. It's a good hint, too.

Other hints:

It's the title cut from the album. It got plenty of airtime in the early to mid 70's, but not on the pop stations. The title is two words.

And you know

it makes me wonder

what's going on

dowwwwwwwwn

under

the ground

OK, more hints. If no one gets it today, I'll pass to Waysider.

The band is Crosby Stills Nash and Young

The title of the song is never said in the song, but is totally derived from the lyrics.

Do you know? Don't you wonder? What's going on.... down under you? Ah bi da....

I think the "what's goin' on" is a reference to Marvin Gaye's song.

It's "Deja Vu" (feels like I been here before)

here's a funky live version. Does David look like the Lion in the Wizard of Oz, or what?

I remember Graham Nash introducing this song at a live concert I was at. He related how strange the song seemed to him when David brought it to them. It became a wildly successful title cut to one of their best albums.

I pass to Waysider

Hi, Dan

I played those first two albums so many times you could almost hear the other side of the record bleeding through.

I really think you should take the next one, also.

Besides, now that you have all those channels, the possibilities are endless.

Hey! Just for funnzies, do a google on Sirius(the star).

Their logo will take on a whole new meaning.

BTW---Almost cut my hair(happened just the other day.)

music is what we like to play

all day all day all day all day all day

to soothe your soul, yeah

Sirius (α CMa / α Canis Majoris / Alpha Canis Majoris) (IPA: /ˈsɪ.ɹi.əs/) is the brightest star in the night-time sky with a visual apparent magnitude of −1.47. It is located in the constellation Canis Major. Sirius can be seen from almost every inhabited region of the Earth's surface (those living north of 73 degrees cannot see it) and, in the Northern Hemisphere, is known as a vertex of the Winter Triangle.

Under the right conditions, Sirius can be observed in daylight with the naked eye. Ideally the sky must be very clear, with the observer at a high altitude, the star passing overhead, and the sun low down on the horizon.[5]What to the eye appears as a single star is actually a large binary star system, consisting of a bright white main sequence star of spectral type A1V, named Sirius A, and a faint white dwarf companion of spectral type DA named Sirius B.
