This quote is "Money"  ~Pink Floyd~. That obviously, I recognize. Some of those other lines are familiar too. I've never paid too much attention to the rest of those lyrics.

I thought somebody might- I would. Sometimes they would edit that word in airing the song. At the end of the song, there's a bunch of spoken words as if there's a conversation we're missing. Those were all excerpts from interviews, which were edited together and into the end of the song.  Â
To keep in silence I resigned
My friends would think I was a nut
Turning water into wine
Open doors would soon be shut
So I went from day to day
Though my life was in a rut
I appreciate your bringing a variety of songs. I wish we had a dozen or so players (as it was, back in the day) where just about ANY song was known by at least two people. Of course, just because I have no idea what this one is, it's certainly possible that it's a favorite of WW or Raf. Â
Solsbury Hill, yes, that's it. It was Peter Gabriel's debut single as a solo artist after leaving Genesis. In fact, the song is about leaving the band behind and carrying on by himself.
I always pictured that as "Salisbury". like the "steak."  But Little Solsbury Hill, apparently, was where he was sitting when he got the idea for the song.      *looks* He had quite a few albums. I liked 1-2 songs from several of them, but I liked about 1/2 the songs on "So."  This song was from his self-titled solo album, "Peter Gabriel", aka "Car."
*checks*Â No wonder I got so confused about what was on which album. I just had his Greatest Hits album.
"Now you can join the ranks of the illustrious
In history's great dark hall of fame.
All our greatest killers were industrious
At least the ones that we all know by name."
"Now if you have a taste for this experience
And you're flushed with your very first success,
Then you must try a twosome or a threesome
And you'll find your conscience bothers you much less."

"There really isn't any need for bloodshed,
You just do it with a little more finesse.
If you can slip a tablet into someone's coffee,
Then it avoids an awful lot of mess."

I agree that's how it sounds. However, this was a regular song off a regular album off a regular band.   Actually, now that I think of it, there's a bit of irony there.
"Once that you've decided on a killing,
First you make a stone of your heart.
And if you find that your hands are still willing,
Then you can turn a murder into art.

"Because murder is like anything you take to
It's a habit-forming need for more and more.
You can bump off every member of your family
And anybody else you find a bore."

"But you can reach the top of your profession
If you become the leader of the land.
For murder is the sport of the elected,
And you don't need to lift a finger of your hand."

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

I thought that was shoe in, but here is some more.
My daddy was the family bassman
My mamma was an engineer
And I was born one dark gray morn
With music coming in my ears
In my ears
My daddy was a prominent frogman
My mamma's in the Naval Reserve
When I was young I carried a gun
But I never got the chance to serve
I did not serve

And once upon a pair of wheels
Hit the road and I’m gone
What’s my number ?
I wonder how your engines feel
Ba ba ba ba
Scoot down the road
What’s my number?
I wonder how your engines feel
Shine the light

Here it is. First let's warm up with "At The Zoo" before Simon and Garfunkel sing "Baby Driver".

I think I MIGHT have heard "At the Zoo" before, but not "Baby Driver."Â Cute tune.

If he'd posted "orangutans are skeptical", I would have gotten "At The Zoo" immediately. ;)   I don't know all the lyrics that well.Â

Saying it's a "favorite" is a bit of a stretch, but I do like the song and the artist.
"Salisbury Hill,"Â by 'Peter Gabriel.
I think that one's off the album "So" , but I'm not certain of that.  I've liked a number of his songs that I think were on that album.
