"Hey little sister, who is it you're with?
Hey little sister, what's your vice and wish?
Hey little sister shot gun (oh yeah)
Hey little sister, who's your Superman?
Hey little sister, shot gun!"
She wants to return those things I bought her
Tell her she can keep them just the same
Things have changed, she doesn't love me now
She's made it clear enough, it ain't no good to pine
She wants to return those things I bought her
Tell her she can keep them just the same
Things have changed, she doesn't love me now
She's made it clear enough, it ain't no good to pine
Walkin' about, even in a crowd, well
You'll pick her out, makes a bloke feel so proud
If she finds that I've been 'round to see you
Tell her that I'm well and feelin' fine
Don't let on, don't say, "She broke my heart"
I'd go down on my knees but it's no good to pine
Walkin' about, even in a crowd, well
You'll pick her out, makes a bloke feel so proud
When I was young, my heart was young, then too And anything that it would tell me, that's the thing that I would do But now I feel such emptiness within For the thing that I want most in life's the thing that I can't win
When I was young, my heart was young, then too And anything that it would tell me, that's the thing that I would do But now I feel such emptiness within For the thing that I want most in life's the thing that I can't win
Spread your tiny wings and fly away And take the snow back with you where it came from on that day The one I love forever is untrue And if I could, you know that I would fly away with you
Oh, if you don't mind, could I talk you out of a light?
Well, thank you, could I drink you a buy?
Oh, listen to me. What I mean is can I buy you a drink?
Anything you please

Is this the right thread you're in George because it doesn't sound like a tune?

Oh, you're welcome. Well, I don't think I caught your name
Are you waiting for someone to meet you here?
Well, that makes two of us, glad you came

No, I don't know the name of the band
But they're good, aren't they?
Would you like to dance?
Yeah, I like this song too, it reminds me of you and me, baby
Do you think there's a chance that later on I could drive you home?
No, I don't mind at all.
George
(If no one gets it, and I suspect that no one will, I'll post a link.)
This song seems a little obscure, however, I did listen to a lot of music in the 60' and 70's (and I still do) which this song seems to me to be from that time. A Mac Davis song perhaps, someone like that, or some other balladeer. Bobby Goldsboro maybe. If it was on the air I probably have heard it. Freddy Fender maybe? It's not a group is it? It's a single artist, right George?

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Correct! His preceding hit- and last round's song- was "Eyes Without A Face."

There's still no face
Here in her place
So cool, she was like
Jazz on a Summer's day
Music, high and sweet
Then she just blew away

This seems vaguely familiar, but nothing is springing to mind yet.

Human without the bean
So wild, standing there
With her hands in her hair
I can't help remember
Just where she touched me
There's still no face
Here in her place
So cool, she was like
Jazz on a Summer's day
Music, high and sweet
Then she just blew away
Now she can't be that warm
With the wind in her arms
Love songs fill the night
But they don't tell it all
Not how lovers cry out
Just like they're dying
Her cries hang there
In time, somewhere
Someday, some good wind
May blow her back to me
Some night I may hear
Her like she used to be
No it can't be that warm
With the wind in her arms

Just the bloke line would have been enough for me George.

Correct.
I'm a big Herman's Hermits fan, so ANY of the lines would have given it to me.

It's a song all right. Maybe a different genre than most of them in this thread.
