Shadows painting our faces
Traces of romance in our heads
Heaven's holding a half-moon
Shining just for us
Let's slip off to a sand dune, real soon
And kick up a little dust
Come on, Cactus is our friend
He'll point out the way
Come on, till the evening ends
'Til the evening ends
You don't have to answer
There's no need to speak
I'll be your belly dancer, prancer
And you can be my sheik
I thought that that would have been enough for most people, but here's the whole song except for the title lyric:
Â
[Title]
Send your camel to bed
Shadows painting our faces
Traces of romance in our heads
Heaven's holding a half-moon
Shining just for us
Let's slip off to a sand dune, real soon
And kick up a little dust
Come on, Cactus is our friend
He'll point out the way
Come on, till the evening ends
'Til the evening ends
You don't have to answer
There's no need to speak
I'll be your belly dancer, prancer
And you can be my sheik
I know your daddy's a sultan
A nomad known to all
With fifty girls to attend him, they all send him
Jump at his beck and call
But you won't need no harem, honey
When I'm by your side
And you won't need no camel, no no
When I take you for a ride
Come on, Cactus is our friend
He'll point out the way
Come on, till the evening ends
'Til the evening ends
[Title]
Send your camel to bed
Got shadows painting our faces
And traces of romance in our heads
Can't get no rest Don't know how I work all day When will I learn? Memories get in the way I walk around I can't hear a sound, folks talkin' loud, but I Don't see at all I gotta get away, gotta get away

Twelve forty-five Headed for the subway home I took my time 'Cause I felt so all alone
Not far away I heard a funny sound, took a look around, and I Could see her face Smilin' as she came, callin' out my name, so I Know where to go We'll take it slow Guess I'll call it a day
Ah. Good choice, actually. Once I could hear the music, I recognized it. I don't know that I would have remembered that the Spinners performed it, though.
I think I finally got it.  I thought the artist was Lou Sayers, but after following up with my inclination that the title was "The Show Must Go On" and it was Lou Sayers' song, I got caught up in some feed and I had to question my answer. Apparently covered by other artists like Three Dog Night, Queen. But it turns out it was a song recorded by Sayers and co-written by him. Thanks George for reminding me of the artist. I really liked Leo Sayers. He has some great songs. Very entertaining artist.Â
Come to me now and rest your head for just five minutes Everything is good Such a cozy room the windows are illuminated By the evening sunshine through them, fiery gems for you, only for you

I'll light the fire, you place the flowers In the vase that you bought today Staring at the fire for hours and hours while I listen to you Play your love songs all night long for me, only for me

[song title] is a very, very, very fine house With two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard Now everything is easy, 'cause of you And our la, la, la la la la la, la, la, la la la la la

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Since Human didn't post another...
Baby, although I chose this lonely life
It seems it's stranglin' me now
All the wild men, big cigars, gigantic car
They're all laughin' at the lie
Oh, I've been used Ooh-oh-oh-oh
I've been a fool, oh, what a fool
I broke all the rules Oh, yeah

Baby, there's an enormous crowd of people
They're all after my blood
I wish maybe they'd tear down the walls of this theater
Let me out
Let me out!
Oh, I'm so blind, oh, (so blind) I'm blind
I wasted time, wasted, wasted, (wasted time) wasted time
Walking on a wire, oh, (high wire) high wire

I didn't even know Sayres had written it until I looked it up. I remembered the Three Dog Night cover. Still, same words, so you're up.

Close, and almost a cigar. Alright George, I'll give it to you. Not that much of a Crosby Stills & Nash fan I take it? It's Our House.
