He's really country, but he was considered a folk guy too as many artists were of the day. It's ballet song,
It is and I apologize now for its not really a ballet. I tried to edit that before posting but my time ran out (I'm hurrying to post this now so I don't get locked out) to change that. So Glen Campbell is the artist and the song goes a ways back I think 68' and its called "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife". I remember hearing it a lot back in the day. Glen Campbell was always on the radio and television.

On a morning from a Bogart movie In a country where they turn back time You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre Contemplating a crime She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running Like a watercolor in the rain Don't bother asking for explanations She'll just tell you that she came
She doesn't give you time for questions As she locks up your arm in hers And you follow 'till your sense of which direction Completely disappears
Or she's really, really a fan of that album.   Meanwhile, we have a different song this month, and I've probably never heard it.
Oh I'm sure you've heard of it before WordWolf unless you weren't into listening to music in the 70's.

By the blue tiled walls near the market stalls There's a hidden door she leads you to These days, she says, I feel my life Just like a river running throughÂ
While she looks at you so cooly And her eyes shine like the moon in the sea She comes in incense and patchouli So you take her, to find what's waiting inside
Â
Well morning comes and you're still with her And the bus and the tourists are gone And you've thrown away your choice you've lost your ticket So you have to stay on But the drum-beat strains of the night remain In the rhythm of the new-born day You know sometime you're bound to leave her But for now you're going to stay
Al Stewart did some albums in the mid 70's. Probably best known for Year of the Cat. However, Time Passages is another one of his songs you may recognise. According to wikipedia YOTC received a lot of radio play on both classic rock and folk rock stations. Alan Parson produced his music.  I guess he's an Aussie. Anyway, for the heck of it and I'm into posting videos again here is Time Passages.
Sha la la la la la my lady In the sun with your hair undone Can you hear me now calling Your name from across the bay A summer's day laughing and a-hiding Chasing love....... Hey Hey Hey HeyÂ
Not for me. *checks* Never heard of this song, nor the artist.   I know plenty of 70s songs that have aired SINCE the 70s, but if they haven't, I haven't got a chance. I was listening to top 40 in the 70s.
So what are saying WordWolf, you didn't want to wait for any more clues so you just *looked it up*? I think it was a late-seventies tune (1978) so if you were listening to Top 40's you would have heard of it. This tune peaked at number 9 on billboard Hot 100.

She was the color of the Indian summer And we shared the hours without number Until one day when the sky turned dark And the winds grew wild Caught by the rain and blinded by the lightning We rode the storm out there on
I held her close Until the storm passed And we fell down laughing in the wet grass Both our bodies drying in the sunshine, Sweet sunshine
So Sha, la, la, la, la, la my lady In the sun with your dress undone Now every mile away and every day Cuts a little bit deeper I'll remember the nights in the cool sand Makin' love out on

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

A New Song:
About fell out my chair
And when you moved your mouth to speak
I felt the blood go to my feet
What you tried so not to show
Now something in my soul just cries
I see the want in your blue eyes

You'd never let your feelings show
The obligation that you made
For the title that they gave

That other one was haunting me.
Is this one "Key Largo"? I don't remember the artist, if it is...

Out of lyrics and I can't seem to get any guesses so let's call it. Did you remember this one?

It's obvious that you cut off the end of a couple of lines, undoubtedly because the omitted part is the title.
That means I could give a couple of guesses as to the title ("The Beach"? "The Lake"?); but I would still have no idea about the artist.
