The answer isn't "Rocket Man." and since my security means YT doesn't run automatically here (nor do I want it to), all I see is a button indicating there's a video, and your writing.

OK I got my Astronaut space songs mixed up. This would be Astronaut Major Tom aka Space Oddity by ~David Bowie~ . I'd try to post the video but it's a real pain in the butt.

"Space Oddity" by David Bowie is correct. ("Major Tom" was a sort-of sequel by Peter Schilling ABOUT the astronaut.) I'd much rather have the link (which I can use) than a hotlinked video (which is often invisible depending on my browser security settings.)
She's got eyes of the bluest skies As if they thought of rain I hate to look into those eyes And see an ounce of pain Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place Where as a child I'd hide And pray for the thunder And the rain To quietly pass me by
I like my settings with a double-serving of security on the side, thank you. Other than here, it's not an issue anywhere else, and I take sensible precautions.
The audio of this version is a little weak or maybe it's that "Norwegian Wood" by ~The Beatles~ was recorded in Mono. Off Rubber Soul I think! Lennon had some of the best ballets! Oh yeah! I think I figured out my video trouble thing that I was having. Everything I'm posting seems to coming in loud and clear, except for this particular video that is.

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

You know, then mama took me to Sunday school
They tried to teach me the golden rule
Everytime that choir would sing

You know, then mama took me to Sunday school
They tried to teach me the golden rule
Everytime that choir would sing
Once I was climbing the garden wall
I slipped and had a terrible fall
I fell so hard, I heard bells ring
Once, I was swimmin' 'cross Turtle Creek
Man, them snappers all around my feet
Sure was hard swimmin' 'cross that thing

When I was a little bitty boy
My grandmother bought me a cute little toy
Silver bells hanging on a string
You know, then mama took me to Sunday school
They tried to teach me the golden rule
Everytime that choir would sing
Once I was climbing the garden wall
I slipped and had a terrible fall
I fell so hard, I heard bells ring
Once, I was swimmin' 'cross Turtle Creek
Man, them snappers all around my feet
Sure was hard swimmin' 'cross that thing
This little song, it ain't so sad
The cutest little song you ever had
Those of you who will not sing

Reminds me of a Chuck Berry song. Am I on the right track?

You are, indeed. Not his usual fare, but it was possibly his best-selling single.

Another tune:
She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain
To quietly pass me by

I think it's a tune by "Rifles and Flowers". I'll have the answer up soon if no one beats me to it.
