The song received alot of radio play in the late sixties. Originally I thought the ~Buffalo Springfield~ song was made popular by ~We Five~. Apparently it was ~The Mojo Men~.
<br style="font-size: 11.9999990463257px;">I sure remember this quirky little tune from back in the day. No ideas?...I'm gathering.
Pay no attention to that man with the mouse and his mouse pad!
I asked Mrs. Bean if she remembered the song and she's never heard of it. So it maybe something to do with the new 60's station that started rebroadcasting in my area.
You take a bus marked "Lakewood Drive"
And you keep on ridin' 'til you're out of the city
Where the air is fine with the sweet smell of pine
And the countryside's pretty
And you'll see daffodils, peepin' ovr' the hill
Or a honey lovin' mama bear
Just take a left at the bridge, go down to Quakertown Ridge
And in a minute you're there
Da din din din din din da din din din din din da din din din din da din din din din din

Your description sounds like the Cowsills, but the only two songs of theirs which I know are "Hair" and "The Rain, the Park, and Other Things"; and this song is neither of those.

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

I sure remember this quirky little tune from back in the day. No ideas?...I'm gathering.
That's about it, as far as clues go. The rest of it includes the title. 1968.
An American band comprised of 6 siblings that included their mother. The band was the inspiration for the tv show The Partridge Family.
One song and (arguable ) their most popular had the title of what hippies at the time wore on their heads.

Chickity chicken the Chinese Chicken
Have a drumstick and your brain starts tickin'
Watching X-Files with no lights on
We're dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Like Harrison Ford I'm getting frantic
Like Sting I'm tantric
Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like Kurosawa, I make mad films
Okay, I don't make films,
But if I did, I'd have a Samurai

OK! This is a pretty obscure song, so probably nobody here is familiar with it.

It was the big single off of "Stunt",
and was probably that band's biggest song.
(Unless that was "It's All Been Done Before.")
It was even used in some car commercial.

Up every mornin just to keep a job
I gotta fight my way through the hustling mob
Sounds of the city poundin in my brain
While another day goes down the drain
Tradin my time for the pay I get

But its a [TITLE] when the whistle blows
No one owns a piece of my time
And theres a [partial title] me inside my clothes
Thinkin that the world looks fine, yeah
Tradin my time for the pay I get
Livin on money that I aint made yet
Ive been goin tryin to make my way

Cuz its a [TITLE] when the whistle blows
No one owns a piece of my time, and
Theres a long-haired girl who waits, I know
To ease my troubled mind, yeah
