Yeah, Jackson Brown wrote it with a little help from Glen Frye who made it a hit. So after the success The Eagles had with it Brown sued and received a multi-million dollar settlement out of court.
The Beach Boys essentially stole this tune, with new lyrics, to make "Surfin USA." After years in court, the writer of this song finally got listed as the composer of "Surfin USA."
Can I, from that, infer that you listened to the two songs? The Beach Boys swear it wasn't intentional, but the similarities, not only in the tune but in the words, seem too great to be coincidental.
We might have similar taste in music George. You often post songs that I would consider some of my favorites. Along those lines I was waiting to see if anyone else would guess this.

Correct.
I remember a DJ saying that when they sang about the Mamas and the Papas, they sounded like the Mamas and the Papas; when they sang about the Beatles, they sounded like the Beatles; when they sang about Donovan, they sounded like Floyd the Barber.

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

I've never confused that band with ~Pink Floyd~. Badfinger, maybe but not them.
I heard ~Pink Floyd~'s Money this morning on the radio of all places. I was going to chime in then but the computer I was on wouldn't let me.
50% / 50% I suppose. But let Georgio have it WW.

So you weren't confused after all George. My bad.
Well, I'm standing on a corner
In Winslow, Arizona
and such a fine sight to see
It's a girl my Lord, in a flatbed Ford
Slowing down to take a look at me
Come on Baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love
is gonna save me

She's just got to have
About half a million
Famed autographs
Her wallet filled with pictures
She gets them one by one
Becomes so excited
Watch her, look at her run.

Please may I go
It's such a sight to see
Somebody steal the show"
"Oh Daddy, Daddy
I beg of you
Whisper to Mommy
It's alright with you"

Wow. I almost thought this was the name that flick thread. "Mommy Dearest"? Then I realized that it was the name that tune thread.
Still, not idea.

"Sweet Little Sixteen" by Chuck Berry. Listen to it, then listen to "Surfin' USA." What's amazing is that it took Berry 20 years to win his lawsuit.

New song:
And they got a good thing goin'
When the words don't get in the way.
And when they're really wailing,
Michelle and Cass are sailin'.
Hey! they really nail me to the wall.
