In this thread, you're supposed to name a performer (not required in "Songs Remembered..."). In most cases, it won't matter whether it's the original artist or a cover, though sometimes the lyrics are slightly different. Just to move things along, the most well-known version of "End of the World" was by Skeeter Davis, though I would have accepted Herman's Hermits or any other cove.

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

"Everybody's got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey." - The Beatles
New Tune:
Pride and joy and greed and sex
That's what makes our town the best
Pride and joy and dirty dreams and still surviving on the street
And look at me, I'm in tatters, yeah

It might have been "still remember" instead of "think about me".
The Moody Blues had some good stuff on "Sur la Mer."
At least this song and "I Know You're Out There Somewhere"
should be considered mandatory listening for occasional listeners
of soft rock.

New tune.
After a while you start to smile now you feel cool
Then you decide to take a walk by the old school
Nothing is changed it's still the same
I've got nothing to say but it's OK

Sorry dude, but that was one of the biggest WAG's ever. I'm shocked that it was right.
New Tune:
And I don't know why I let that mean woman make me a fool
She took all my money, wrecked my new car
Now she's with one of my good time buddies
They're drinkin' in some cross town bar

That's about three and a half lines more than I needed for that one..."Whipping Post."

Okay, I think it's time to move on:
The song was "Black Cow" by Steely Dan.
New Tune:
It's three am, there's too much noise

'Cause you feel so good

Well, it looks like I've managed to bring two threads to a screeching halt - yea for me.
So let me see if I can rectify this situation.
Here's the first clue:
It's three am, there's too much noise
don't you people ever wanna go to bed?
'Cause you feel so good
Do you have to drive me out of my head?
And here's some more:
I live in an apartment on the ninety-ninth floor of my block
And I sit at home looking out the window
Imagining the world has stopped
Bonus Hint:
The band's initials are RS and they have been together for more than 40 years.

It's Rolling Stones don't know the song well enough to recognize it.
