Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

New Tune:
She said my breasts they will always be open
Baby, you can rest your weary head right on me
And there will always be a space in my parking lot
When you need a little coke and sympathy

can't believe that no one here knows that song...
but here's a whole stanza from later on in the song
(the other clue was the first two lines from the song)
Everyone I know, everywhere I go
People need some reason to believe
I don't know about anyone but me
If it takes all night, that'll be all right
If I can get you to smile before I leave
c'mon... I know you can hear it in your head...

Well, if anyone may chime in, I'll give it a try.
Is it Running On Empty by Jackson Browne?

Anyone MAY chime in.
And I have looked up the lyrics to "Running on Empty" by Jackson Browne,
and this is indeed that song.
So, it is now YOUR turn, Wing.
Please pick a song we are likely to have heard,
(I PERSONALLY try not to pick stuff after 1985 in deference to the advanced
age and approaching decrepitude of many posters, but you are free to post
from ANY song)
remembering that the song must have had AIRPLAY.
Good songs that never were played on the air are still good songs, but it is unfair
to require us to own a specific album.
If you don't know the artist, you should look it up, along with the complete
lyrics so you can make sure you have them correct.
If someone has the correct title but incorrect ARTIST, please check and see if
that artist did a cover of the same song. Some songs have been redone a LOT.
(I posted a song with at least 3 "correct" artists, and I only knew of 2, but someone
chimed in with the third. I checked-they were correct.)
Please also give us a fair chance and space out your clues a day apart or so.
Any faster and you may make it too easy when we log in and read,
any slower and it may be most of a month before we can answer.
Try not to make it too obvious with the first post.
(Sometimes people get it on the first try with an obscure lyric,
and it's more of an accomplishment when you can at least TRY to do that.)
If you have trouble looking up a song, it's very easy:
http://www.google.com
Enter the words "lyric" then the title of the song, and the artist's name, each in quotes.
If you don't know the artist, switch out a line of the song in quotes for the artist's name.
If you're checking if a different artist did a cover, switch their name as the artist,
and see if you get results.
It's actually pretty simple-most of what I said is kind-of common sense.

"Knocking on Heaven's Door" - Bob Dylan - also covered by Guns n' Roses among others.
New Tune:
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

As for this song, I can't recognize any song that runs over 3:05, so I'm stuck.

That song was, what, 7:15 or something?
I thought some of the lyrics were great for twi survivors to listen and consider.
"Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss."
No names, but I said that back when I left, and it reminds me of some "new bosses" in some places.
dooj, please pass us another! :)

About those previous clues, and the song title Polythene Pam. . .
"well you should see her practice...." "in her... package, you should see..."
I, for one could never have guessed that. Dooj, were you thinking really of a different tune?
here is lyric Polythene Pam: (verse 1)
well, you should see polythene pam
she's so good looking but she looks like a man
well, you should see her in drag, dressed in her polythene bag
yes, you should see ploythene pam
wing : )
but I don't have any guesses about See-saw swingin...
