Name that Tune

I can actually hear that song in my head.

Thriller, by Michael Jackson, with a little help from Vincent Price.

Correct, of course.

The "rap" done by Vincent Price is my favourite part of the song.

The video for this song has some of the best choreography I've ever seen. As someone pointed out, when

the singer's transformed, the steps following are INCREDIBLY in sync. When the dancers do that single jump,

you can actually draw a line under them.

Vincent Price's been on my mind since seeing "The Abominable Dr Phibes" the other week.

Let's move this along, please..... :)

At age 7, won the title of Miss Wildwood Lane (the street I grew up on) by singing that song! The judges were so impressed that I could say it backwards. Docious-ali-expi-icious-fraga-cali-rupus! (spelling errors are probable!) Wonder if they'll take my crown away now that I sport purple hair?

Here's another "oldie" but should be easy:

Some brimstone baritone anti-cyclone rolling stone preacher from the east

He says: "Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in its funny bone, that's where they expect it least"

and I'll accept either of the two that had 'hits' with it... but I'd like the first one (if you can think of it)... name both for extra points!

I took myself down to the Tally Ho Tavern,

To buy me a bottle of beer.

And I sat me down by a tender young maiden,

Who's eyes were as dark as her hair.

this artist is probably better known as a songwriter instead of a singer.

More hints

I took myself down to the Tally Ho Tavern,

To buy me a bottle of beer.

And I sat me down by a tender young maiden,

Who's eyes were as dark as her hair.

...

I said: "Hey, little girl, don't you know he's the devil.

"He's everything that I ain't.

"Hiding intentions of evil,

"Under the smile of a saint.

"All he's good for is getting in trouble,

"And shiftin' his share of the blame.

"And some people swear he's my double:

"And some even say we're the same.

I knew. I own a copy of "Sur la Mer", specifically because it contains this song.

(Thus the "Sir"/"Sur" reference.)

I was going to give the others a few hours to answer it, just in case someone else recognized it,

before naming it.

Ok, mindful that I try to keep the songs pre-1985, because otherwise I can post the entire song and a lot

of them won't get it, let's see, next song....

"And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,

My independence seems to vanish in the haze."

I think I know one!?! Is that "Help" by the Beatles?

Bulwinkl, hope you'll come back and play. Often have to leave a tune up for a day or so in order that everyone be able to see it, and then have a while to bring those lyrics out from the recesses of our minds. I know for me, it can take a while sometimes.

I would have known it if I had gotten here in time. I really enjoy the Moody Blues.

Please continue to chime in, we enjoy new faces around here! :D
