So what are the rules wait for confirmation then I ask or what? Inquiring minds want to know!
If you know your answer is correct, you can go ahead and post a new tune.
Of course, if you are wrong, you are banished from the kingdom, whipped with a wet noodle and forced to listen to Yanni CDs until your eardrums bleed! :)
I'm Impressed I even got the lyrics wrong. The corrected Lyrics are:
"They say that all good things must end someday, autumn leaves must fall, but don't you know that it hurts me so to say good bye to you, Wish you didn't have to go, No no no no, And when the rains beat against my window pane, I'll think of summer days again and dream of you."
No problem, anotherDan, I've been a bit pre-occupied over in the "About the Way" forum, and may be for a while longer. So, all, please proceed with his tune in place of one from me, and I will rejoin the festivities when time allows.
Just a reminder to our new folks: only use songs that had radio airplay. Album cuts are okay if you've actually heard them on the radio. (Of course, just because I don't recognize a song doesn't mean it wasn't oft-played!)

Just so you know.....
This rule was agreed-upon for the same reason the "you can't look up a song while you're guessing" rule came up.
If you look it up, you're not trying to guess-you're measuring your ability to look up online.
That's not challenging, and it's not this game. It's a fairness rule for the guessers.
(And if you look it up, you can't guess any further, since you now know the answer.)
As for airplay, it's a fairness rule for the posters.
There's a lot of songs we all like, and many of them never got airplay. Without picking a song that got airplay,
you're requiring the guessers own the album, which is pretty restrictive. I've got a number of songs I like that,
AFAIK, never got airplay, so in fairness, I don't post them. Otherwise, I'm trying to frustrate the players-
in all games, players should have a reasonable chance to win. ("Reasonable" varies with the specific game, of course.)

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Yep you're correct Its "Memphis Tennesse" by Chuck Berry
Johnny Rivers version was called "Memphis"
ChucKs version said "She's the only one who'd phone me here "
While Johnny's version said "She's the only one who called me here "
And Chucks version said "Help me find the party trying to get in touch with me"
Johnny's said Help me find the party that tried to get in touch with me
Good call Bulwinkl Your up!!!

Is it "A Summer Song" by Chad and Jeremy?
The year, ummmmmmmm . . . my pre-teen years, so guessing mid 60's. 1964? 65? 66? Not really sure, but do remember singing along to the song.

I think I understand the rules, so Suda's next is the official thread. Can I offer a "bonus" lyric? Title and author/artist
I'm gonna see the folks I dig. I'll even kiss the Sunset pigs.

California
Sitting in a park in paris, france
Reading the news and it sure looks bad
They won’t give peace a chance
That was just a dream some of us had
Still a lot of lands to see
But I wouldn’t want to stay here
It’s too old and cold and settled in it’s ways here
Oh, but california
California I’m coming home
I’m going to see the folks I dig
I’ll even kiss a sunset pig
California I’m coming home
I met a redneck on a grecian isle
Who did the goat dance very well
He gave me back my smile
But he kept my camera to sell
Oh the rogue, the red red rogue
He cooked good omelettes and stews
And I might have stayed on with him there
But my heart cried out for you, california
Oh california I’m coming home
Oh make me feel good rock’n roll band
I’m your biggest fan
California, I’m coming home
Chorus:
Oh it gets so lonely
When you’re walking
And the streets are full of strangers
All the news of home you read
Just gives you the blues
Just gives you the blues
So I bought me a ticket
I caught a plane to spain
Went to a party down a red dirt road
There were lots of pretty people there
Reading rolling stone, reading vogue
They said, "how long can you hang around? "
I said "a week, maybe two,
Just until my skin turns brown
Then I’m going home to california"
California I’m coming home
Oh will you take me as I am
Strung out on another man
California I’m coming home
Chorus:
Oh it gets so lonely
When you’re walking
And the streets are full of strangers
All the news of home you read
More about the war
And the bloody changes
Oh will you take me as l am?
Will you take me as l am?
Will you?
California
Joni Mitchell... amazing lyricist. How about this one?
From here to Venezela, there's nothing more to see
Than a hundred thousand islands, flung like jewels upon the sea
For you and me

I assume that this last part is your clue. I don't recognize it, but if you give some more lyrics maybe someone will get it.
