Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

And now for something completely different:

When quite accidentally,

Sounds kinda like the theme song for F Troop, the tv series. But would have no idea who sang it. Maybe the F Troop Singers?

You're right about the F-Troop theme. I don't know who sang it, either. Was it ever played on the radio?

You are correct Suda!
The end of the Civil War was near
When quite accidentally,
A hero who sneezed abruptly seized
Retreat and reversed it to victory.
His medal of honor pleased and thrilled
his proud little family group.
While pinning it on some blood was spilled
And so it was planned he'd command F Troop.
Where Indian fights are colorful sights
and nobody takes a lickin'
Where pale face and redskin
Both turn chicken.
When killing and fighting get them down,
They know their morale can't droop.
As long as they all relax in town
Before they resume with a bang and a boom
F Troop

I still dream about that

Is it "Rocky Top" by Dolly Parton?

Waysider,
It is indeed "Rocky Top". It has been recorded by many artists.
Just got back from UT Knoxville where it is a "theme" song. Have always enjoyed it.

I was thinking more like " All In The Family".
Then again, I'm a Buckeye,(ie: a worthless nut)
I wore high-top shoes and shirt tails
Susie was in pigtails
I knew I loved her even then.

I know I've heard this one. The Susie reference reminds me of "Crocodile Rock," but I know that's not it.

In that one, "Susie wore her dresses tight."
And then, of course. there was also "Wake Up Little Susie".
Hmmm.
This Susie seem to have been quite a popular gal!
No wonder she was everyone's childhood sweetheart.
