I ned to hold back on this one Raf...I worked for a Chicago based band in the 70's and one of the members of that band survived to play in this one.. so I'll let another have a shot at it
Okay. There's no deadline. But when seconds count, I'm going to ask you again.
Another shooting star goes by.
And in the night the silence speaks to you and I.
And now the time has come at last.
Don't let the moment run too fast.
This band was better known for a monster hit. They had four more genuine hits, but none nearly as well known as its first. Scratch that: they had a real sappy love song that did really well too, but this wasn't it.
The "...."s above represent the song's title. I'm pretty sure the band members are all still alive (or they'd have to change the name of the band, no?)

It was played on album oriented stations so that counts. I remember it I just can't think of the song right now

Don't know the title but then I never did like the stones to much. unless it was covered by Flying Burrito brothers also which would make it dead flowers but I think that's another song.

Once beneath the stars, the universe was ours. Love was all we knew, and all I knew was you. I wonder where you are, I wonder if you think about me Once upon a time, IN YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. It mig

Proving that there is life after Led Zeppelin
Tall Cool One Robert Plant
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you.
Lots of people talk and few of them know,
soul of a woman was created below.
You hurt and abuse tellin' all of your lies.
Run around sweet baby, Lord how they hypnotize.
Sweet little baby, I don't know where you've been.
Gonna love you baby, here I come again.

Isn't your new tune one of the ones they "stole"???

Correct! Off the "Now and Zen" album, a sweet set of songs, IMHO.
If I'm right, it's a song quite descriptive of my mood this second,
"DAZED AND CONFUSED", from Plant's days IN Led Zepellin.
I always thought the line was
"the soul of a woman was created for love".

Next song.
"I thought I knew what love was- what did I know.
Those days are gone forever-I should just let them go, but"

Correct.
I would also have accepted the cover done by the Ataris.
They changed one line-
"Out on the road today, saw a Dan Quayle sticker on a Cadillac."
That was fast.
Your turn, Raf!

I've been searching for a clue from you
I'm gonna try with all my might

I can feel you tremble when we touch
And I feel the hand of fate
reaching out to both of us
this love affair can't wait
.... I'm on the edge
....
Your voice explodes inside my head.
.... I won't back down
Girl it's too late to turn back now.

Sorry, Raf
No idea.
I'll bet when the answer is given, though, I'll probably do this:

Their other big hits:
Eye of the Tiger (of course)
Burning Heart
High on You
The Search is Over (monster hit in its day, sappy wedding song now, if that).
Their hit no one remembers...
Is This Love
Was that a hit or not?...
Man Against The World
Moment of Truth (theme from the Karate Kid)

Don't recollect a lot of Survivor's tunes just off the top of my head, bit heard "I Can't Hold Back" on the oldies station the other day.
Here's another oldie.
Just as sure as the wind's gonna blow now
The men'll come and the men are gonna go now

Do the five day drag once more.
Know of nothing else that bugs me
More than working for the rich man.
Hey, I'll change that scene one day.
Clue: The rhythm guitarist/co-writer of this tune has two younger brothers who went on to become rock "icons" in their own right.

"MONDAY I'VE GOT FRIDAY ON MY MIND".
Used to listen to that song every Friday afternoon.
Loved the guitar riff. And that drum changeup towards the end.

my first wife use to dream about this band...
Loverboy
Workin for the weekend
Heres another one from the big-hair-band days
They cry in the dark, so you can't see their tears
They hide in the light, so you can't see their fears
Forgive and forget, all the while
Love and pain become one and the same
In the eyes of a wounded child
