quote:I think TWI's use of "you can't hold two thoughts in your mind at the same time" exhibited a grotesque degree of oversimplification, and was used to encourage group-think.
quote: They decided to support this guy over a woman and her children that needed protections. How's the discerning of spirits doing in that situation??
I guess we can lay to rest "All nine all the time" from Way speak.
Tumbleweed Kid on the gross negligence and ignorance of TWI regarding the Mark N child molestation lawsuits and TWI's continuing support for him.
#1. Why is that that when we, who were there, who, for the most part, were NOT damaged by the experience, post positives about our experiences, SOME of you who were NOT there, or were hurt there, consistently speculate about how BLIND, DUPED or MISGUIDED we were????
I was there, at least for a little while. Like you, I was fired from Staff. I don't know about you, but I was fired simply for being married to the wrong man, and I was fired in 1980 by Wierwille. Don't get me wrong, though. I was still willing to stand with TWI in spite of what I felt was a great and hurtful misunderstanding. I later gave Wierwille an opportunity to right the wrong, but he compounded it instead, and then I left. Most of what I now know about Wierwille (the plagiarism, the adulteries, the drunkennness, the rages) I learned long after the fact, but they helped string together the things I knew first-hand about the guy. We were duped, by one of the best -- a man who duped himself.
Because, in my opinion, the facts don't support the premise that TWI the organization was once good. There were good times and lots of good people, absolutely. Good Bible, at times. Miracles? Maybe. Thank God. But as a corporation, it was founded on plagiarism and continued on the whims of one man's own self-interest.
#3. If I & others like me were seeing things in such a delusional, rose colored way WHY did they FIRE us? Why did they tell the new faithful to stay AWAY from those that they kicked out????
I don't think you were delusional. But perhaps you chose to overlook many signs that things were not right in Camelot. I overlooked many red flags, thinking at the time that "nobody is perfect, we all fall short, etc." But the adulteries (along with the lies and the trashed lives) are not about being human -- they are about being evil.
HCW on RFR. Every innie should know about this woman they are supporting!
quote: Do you really think I DIDN'T KNOW who was specifically behind my getting canned from HQ staff? I was THE SECOND person "purged" from staff. Another good friend of mine, Sal Scheccitano (sp?) was the FIRST. Sal is an EXTREMELY talented New Yorker. He had won the contest, beat out everybody, every pianist in TWI, to be the first official pianist for the WOW Auditorium.
He has those New Yawk chops. When most were talking about all that was wrong @ HQ. Sal DID something about it. He went to his BIBLE. He specifically "worked the Word" about a specific list of things acknowledged as being "off the Word" at HQ.
I was over at his house in St. Marys where we were talking about things & stuff. He told me he was going to Rosalie (she was our Trustee Cabinet member) utilizing "the way tree" and gonna "confront her lovingly, but firmly, with the WORD.... and see what she said about it.
She ARGUED with Sal. She said she knew what "the Word said about those things, BUT. Those were Dr. Wierwille's ways and we just don't operate like that around here anymore."
(Supply the accent, see if it doesn't sould EXACTLY like her. )
She also called John Linder, who armed with a 9mm FIREARM, and another equally armed "safety officer," immediately escorted Sal back to his office to clean out his desk, immediately, while they stood over him, allowed him no phone calls, even to his WIFE, and then kicked him off the property (which BTWAY belongs to EVERY believer, right?) and told him to NEVER come back.
If they want to be accurate, they would stick with the *sword of the spirit*, and forget the athletic thing. You throw a javelin, and lose control once it has left your hand. When using a sword -- one can inflict intended damage on the *target*, repeatedly -- since you retain control of the weapon.
I've said it here before, and I'll say it again:
THE -- ADVERSARY -- DID -- NOT -- COME -- TO -- COMPETE!!
He came to Steal, Kill, and Destroy (John 10:10)
WGB, BOT, BOD -- and all that are still "in" -- your's is a sinking ship (on the sea of life), as you continue with all this ludicrous verbal posturing, that's forcing others to believe it as (cough!) doctine.
We were the *front men* what people saw.....People bought OUR honesty and OUR integrety. People assumed that because WE genuinely loved God, that twi was a legitimate healthy christian organization....(I think being used this way is one of the reasons that I am so angry)
That Wascally Wabbit talking about how we were conned into thinking TWI was a love and light and helped facilitate that illusion thereby luring others into the dark belly of the beast.
Interesting enough, is that the early Christians didn't even have the new testament to study. Oh sure, Paul sent letters to certain cities, but were they all put together in book form and called "God's word"?
I believe that it was more about personal relationship with the lord than it was "working the word", as wierwille liked to call it. Twi was totally clueless...
It's sorta like the early Christians were driving the car while twi only studied the owners manual.
Because the only ones left in TWI (besides those stuck for various reasons) are the ones who are already so pliable to the whims of TWI that they no longer need manipulation.
