quote: The zero debt policy is a vestage of the old regime that they simply cannot afford to hold onto. It's only a matter of time before they'll have to silently drop it.
Very well said, CC. They will have to drop it and they've already started by saying that they have never had a "policy" on debt which everyone, even the kool-aid drinkers, know is a big fat lie. The fact that so many have chosen to buy homes and secure their futures instead of choosing the "spiritual matters" should be a clarion call to them that they are insane.
It sounds as though the phasing out of the non-policy has begun with some areas apparently allowing mortgage holders to cleverly word their mortgage or go despite the fact that they have a mortgage.
They won't say they've changed the policy. The word will start going out to the most faithful with mortgages that it's okay for them to go to the classes because of their demonstrated maturity in the Word. Then others will start learning of these "exceptions" and they'll just start signing up and be allowed to attend. Policy changes through the grapevine without ever having to admit being wrong. They've got it down to an art.
