Hmmm, there was also a "Zero" corps that was before the 1st corps, so-called because it failed so badly in VP's eyes, it demanded that history be rewritten so as to erase even the numerical reference to it. It was a first effort. I remember meeting a couple of the people in 1970 at the Way Nash at a SNS. I've got an old Way Mag around here somewhere with graduation photos in it. No Lynn's in that group, this group were pre-the-big-bang period. There were a couple of couples and a single or two. Not real big. Got canned, of course. Start over! Do it right! We'll do it right, this time!
You're not really "corps" unless you've been canned at least once. The trick was getting out of the can.
no, I fear socks is misunderstanding... there was a "kork" before the 1rst kork, was dismissed after 7,8,9 months -- something like that, because vic called Del Duncan sometime in the spring of 1970 about he and Nancy being the coordinators of vics "do-over" and Del said, "well, things are goin' good here, gee, I don't think so, thanks for asking though...". So vic curtly hangs up and Del gets this idea he blew it so he calls vic back and says he accepts. Vic rips him up one side and down the other and says God only opens a door once like that, blah, blah, blah. So Del says, well I believe the door is still open if you won't shut it, vp. And vic tirades him some more and finally says well, you come in June and I'll ride your a$$ all summer long and if you can't hack it, adios! If ya stay, maybe we do the kork -- and the rest is history. There was only one zero kork, fall of 69 through spring of 70. Then numero uno, fall 70 and graduate summer 72.
I have this idea Ken Klug was in da zero kork, any old-timers remember????
